I had trudged back to my suite, just done with the damn day.

I still hadn't found Lucie and Eureka was even being a bitch today.

Where the hell was my sister?

I unlocked the door with a half assed card swipe and found what looked like a ransacking.

The room was completely tossed.

To be more specific, my side was completely tossed.
Lucie's side was empty.

My stomach went down to my shoes.

I hurtled myself out of our...my room and quickly found my parents. They each looked beat sitting at their coffee table, moms hand on her stomach.

"Gem, what's wrong?" Dad stood up quickly.

"Where's Lucie? All her stuff is gone and my side trashed. Dad, where's Lucie?" I rushed out.

My moms face looked pinched. Dad sighed and slowly walked towards me.

"Honey, we've got to tell you something...you're not going to like it."

My mind whirled. Had she finally been kicked out for causing so much drama? Would serve her right.

"Honey, sit" Mom said quietly, patting the chair to the right of her. I sat down and looked to both my parents.

They looked a little older now. Some fine lines showing by their eyes and mouths. Raising two hellions and a third hellion on the way plus Godzillas messing the Earth up all the time ages a person, apparently.

Dad cleared his throat, "Gem... Lucie moved out to... to a new pilot suite." He looked me in the eye, gauging my reaction.

"Like she got a new room? She finally got what she wanted I guess." My stomach eased a bit. It would be nice having a room to myself for once.

"No, hon. Your sister... she piloting with one of those new Spanish pilots that came in for Sovereign."

I stared blankly ahead. "How... they came together? There were two pilots for Spain? How could she?...I don't understand."

My mom grabbed my hand and gave it a squeeze. "It seems your sister got close with them and... they had a falling out. The brothers that is. One stayed and the other returned to Spain a few days ago...Lucie took his place ...apparently." She looked at me sympathetically.

I felt like I wanted to puke. "She said she'd only pilot with me..." It came out quietly, like a little kid finding out Santa wasn't real and asking why...

My dad clasped a hand on my shoulder. "I'm so sorry, Gem. We didn't know she was doing this... if we had known maybe we could have... I don't know. Talked her out of it or something. I thought you both had found places in comms and in the bay... I just... thought you were both fine." He sighed heavily.

"I'm so sorry, my little love."

Everything seemed to spin around me. I stood up abruptly and waved off my parents as they both tried to get me to come back. I hauled ass to the bays.

I was finding that bitch and finally telling her off for good. She was dead to me.

By time I reached the bays, I was pouring sweat and tears ran down my face.

I felt myself shaking and just tried as best I could to hold in the sobs I knew were going to force their ways out.

Sovereign Brave stood nearest to the huge bay doors. She was up soon to face the uggos.
