"I give my life to the cause," Remi looked between Hamish's eyes as she said the sacred oath.
Hamish's shoulders drooped as he opened the door wider. Randall, who stood behind him, looked equally disappointed.
She frowned at the two of them. "What?" She stepped into the foyer as Hamish invited her in. "You wanted me to say the oath. I said the oath."
Hamish backed into the foyer where the beer pong table remained- as well as all the cups. "We just... expected something more ceremonious," he explained to her.
She rolled her eyes at their need for grandiose. "Do you want me to go get a banner?" She hooked her thumb behind her toward the door that stayed open. "Or maybe I can go out into the woods and shout it at the top of my lungs, will that do it for you?" She asked as she quickly looked from Hamish to Randall, then back to Hamish.
Randall lifted an intrigued finger. "Actually-"
"You did fine," Hamish cut him off as he moved around her to close the door. When they wouldn't be overheard by the birds and forest outside, he grinned at her. "Welcome to the Knights of Saint Christopher-" He slapped her shoulder in welcome. "Want a cup of coffee before Randall helps you control the wolf?"
"Um..." Remi looked over at Randall timidly who grinned with wide, excited eyes. "I'll have a cup."
She moved with Hamish towards the left of the foyer. The door led to a massive open-concept kitchen with a magnificent island in the middle set with a wooden top that gave the room a warm, earthy feel. The cabinets were dark-stained wood with white and gray swirled granite countertops cluttered with mugs, cups, and cereal boxes.
She leaned against the island as she watched Hamish pour coffee into a black mug with Jurassic Park's gates painted on the side of it.
He turned to hand her the coffee. "Sugar's in that cabinet-" he pointed to a pantry beside the fridge." Cream and milk are in the door of the refrigerator."
She set her cup down on the island to cool as she turned to grab the sugar from the cabinet he pointed at. She spun with the bag in her hand to see Hamish already had a spoon extended out toward her. She accepted it with a grin as she set the bag beside her cup to open it and spoon out two scoops to pour into her coffee. She stirred it before putting the sugar back into the cabinet.
"So-" she looked at Hamish as she stirred her coffee to dissolve the sugar. "What do you mean control the wolf?" She squinted her eyes as she asked.
Randall walked into the kitchen and squeezed behind her to get to the coffee pot, his hand brushing her lower back as he did so. She straightened up to give him room to pass by. "It means that you and Willow will have a nice long chat about when to change and when not to," Randall answered as he poured himself a cup of coffee and tasted it. He winced at the temperature and lowered, then turned to lean against the counter and look her way. "Once you coax her into coming out on your own, it gets easier to stop her when she tries to force you to change."
She nodded slowly as she took in the information. "What forces her to change?" She asked as she set her elbows on the counter and looked between the two boys. "Is this like Teen Wolf where it's a full moon that tries to force the wolf to change but they can also change whenever they're angry?"
"Dude," Randall grinned cheekily at her. "Teen Wolf?"
She gave an unapologetic shrug. "I was a teen girl who had an absolute crush on Stiles," She confessed. "There's something about the goofy, smart kids that really do me in." Her lips lifted into a slanted smirk as she looked Randall over.
