A harsh ringing pierced through Remi's dreams and woke her up with a start. Her eyes shot open as she lifted a hand to press against her throbbing brow bone. "Ow," She hissed as a constant banging followed after the ringing.

Right after the ringing stopped and her headache mellow out, a vibration traveled across her sheets and buzzed in her ear. It shook her half-melted brain and pulled her from her dreamless slumber.

"Hm, no-" She turned her head into her pillow and pushed the edges up over her ears. Her bed continued to shake with each aggressive buzz of her phone.

"Um, Remi, I don't think it's going to stop until you answer it," Jess's sweet, high-pitched, morning voice added to the buzzing to create the perfect storm for a hangover headache. "If you pick it up, it'll stop ringing," She pressured.

Remi groaned as she dropped the pillow and pushed herself up to her elbows. She reached out blindly for her phone and followed the path of vibration until her fingers touched the cold, smooth surface of her screen.

She picked it up and opened her eyes to slits just to see where the answer slide was. When her thumb matched up with the button she closed her eyes and slide her thumb across her screen. As the vibrations stopped she flopped back down into her pillow and pressed the phone close enough to her ear to hear.

"Hello?" Her voice cracked from misuse and lack of water.

"Remi, is Randall with you?" Lilith rushed the question out.

"What?" She furrowed her brows as she turned on her side and dragged the phone to rest on her cheek. She dropped her hands and curled them into her chest as she waited for sleep to come back. "Why would you think he's with me?"

"Because, he usually always ends up with you. Is he?" There was an edge to Lilith's voice, it as different from her normal angry tone. It was worrying, and stole the rest of Remi's sleep from her.

She opened her eyes enough to see the sunlight peeking through the shades. "He's not with me. He left with that girl last night, remember?"

Jess perked up at the mention of another girl. She turned in her desk chair to look at Remi, but she just lifted a hand to give a dismissive wave.

"I just thought... I thought he would have gone to you after."

She pushed herself up to her elbow and grabbed her phone before it fell off her cheek. "Lilith, what's wrong? Why are you calling me?"

"He never came home last night, and that's not like him."

Remi let out a startled breath. Her tired heart jumpstarted at the thought of Randall not coming back. "He- okay- well, maybe he stayed the night at her place?" She offered, but the words felt wrong as they came out.

"No, he would have texted or something."

"Hold on, let me see if he texted me-" She pulled her phone away from her face and went to her messages.

I think we made a mistak I don't want t see other people

"Oh God-" Her stomach turned at the array of drunk texts she sent him the previous night. She went back to her call and pressed her dirty phone to her ear as she sat up. "No messages from him... but that might be because I sent him some drunk texts."

"What?" Lilith chuckled, which was the first lift of her unease. "Look, okay, Hamish and I are going to the Blade and Chalice. Meet us there. Hamish and I will call Jack to see if he's seen him."
