Randall's leg bounced irritably as he read through the tenth journal on his and Hamish's journey to see where Alpha went- or why Timber would take Silverback and run.

"None of this makes sense-" He threw the useless book on the pile of other useless books. "Nothing in here explains why Lilith would do this." He shook his head as he looked up at Hamish who never even lifted his nose from his book.

"Maybe it's not Lilith, maybe it's Timber-" He lowered the book enough to look over it at Randall. "You said that when you transform around Willow you can feel Graybeards attraction to her, right?"

Randall nodded as his brows pinched together.

"So, what if..." Hamish lowered the book to his lap as he dove deeper into his theory. "Timber has something like that for Silverback?"

"An attraction?" He quirked an animate eyebrow.

Hamish grimaced at the wording. "A bond," He altered.

Randall raised his head to start a nod, but stopped halfway. "Then wouldn't we have discovered that before? I knew the instant I became Graybeard. Wouldn't Lilith have felt it as soon as Timber and Silverback were wolfed out together?"

Hamish nodded, but he had an answer ready. "Would Lilith really tell us if she felt a bond to Jack? Him? Of all people."

"Right," Randall nodded as he leaned forward to rest his forearms on his knees. He stopped bouncing his leg as he stared off at a fixed point along the floor. "So what do we do? How do we find Lilith? Or Timber... or whoever it was that stole Silverback?"

"Honestly... I have no idea."

"Hello!?"

Randall's shoulders drew back as he turned back towards the open basement door.

"Is that-"

"It's Jack!" Randall jumped from his seat and sprinted from the artefact room. Hamish followed closely behind as they tore up the stairs in three single strides.

Randall pushed the door open and paused in the doorway as he saw Jack sitting up with a grimace on his face.

"Jack!" He laughed out as he ran to his friend. "Jack, you're alive!" He wrapped his arms around Jack's sweaty shoulders and pulled him in for a hug. He barely applied pressure before Jack let out a pained scream. He pulled back quickly as his smile dropped. "I'm sorry-" He looked over all sweaty, disgusting parts of Jack. Though he looked rough, he was alive. "I'm just- I'm just so happy you're alive!" He clapped him on the shoulder, which made Jack groan and lean forward. "Oh shit-" Randall placed two gentle hands on the fronts of Jack's shoulders to help him sit up.

"Jack, you were just dead, you should probably rest." Hamish offered.

"No," Jack breathed out as he lifted his head to look at Hamish. Randall kept a secure hand on his shoulder in case he fell forward again. "We're out of time. I saw Lilith, she was uh- in my dream or the afterlife-" He squeezed his eyes shut as he tried to discern reality from what he just experienced. "I don't know which one."

"Dude, you're no making any sense." Randall shook his head as he bowed forward to meet Jack's exhausted eyes. "Lilith is gone, and she took Silverback."

Jack let out a pained breath as he shook his head. "She's at the Temple. Coventry has her."

Randall looked back at Hamish with wide, terrified eyes. He whipped back to Jack. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah. I was in his memory."

"We need to get into that temple," Hamish told the both of them.

"We need to tell Remi," Randall added as he looked back at Hamish. Hamish seemed unsure as he looked from Randall to Jack. "You saw her, she needs to know that Jack is alive and that- that Lilith didn't run away."
