The sun hung high in the sky with no intentions of setting any time soon. Remi felt that it should have been at least midnight, but she was wrong as the birds chirped happily outside.
She tried to distract herself from her exhaustion by working on homework. She figured that since she missed her lectures for the day, the least she could do was study Paranoia Disorder on her own, plus she was fascinated by the diagnosis. She was half tempted to look up her own example of the disorder on her phone. The thought was cut off when a dull ringing shot through her head.
She let her head fall back as she closed her eyes. Willow barely woke up, it felt more like she merely lifted her head at the sound before nuzzling herself back to sleep.
The ringing past and Remi opened her eyes and looked around for Hamish and Lilith. "Guys?"
"We'll go," Lilith clammered down the stairs. "You stay here and make sure Randall doesn't let Jack go."
Remi pursed her lips. "Why me? I also helped him today."
Lilith stopped and looked her over. "Good point. Don't let him go." She added.
"Got it." She gave a nod before she looked back down at her notes. "Can you get food on the way back?"
"Duh."
Remi smiled as she looked back down at her notes. Instead of watching the video she started on transcribing the diagnostic criteria, then she would reward herself with the video after she had finished her notes.
She worked slowly to kill time. She made sure every stroke of her pencil was perfect as she wrote each criteria. Then she used a highlighter to underline each feature just to make her notes appear more put together.
As she worked she listened to Randall and Jack downstairs. She didn't know what Randall's exact plan was, but from what she could tell it was pretty easy going- and Jack hadn't run out to go murder two girls, so he was already doing better than she did.
She finished her notes over Paranoia Disorder and eagerly pulled her phone out to find a video so she could see the disorder in action. She found a highly viewed video of a man who kept imagining he was getting a threatening phone call. She set her phone flat on the coffee table and bent over it to watch it closely. Her legs were folded under the coffee table as her back barely pushed against the legs of the sofa.
She was so invested in her video she didn't notice that Jack and Randall had both come up from the basement.
"Whatcha watchin'?" Randall's voice pulled Remi from the video.
"A guy in the midst of a paranoid episode-" She glanced up quickly to look at him before she went back at the video. She froze and paused her video as she looked back up at him again to see him only dressed in a towel. Her eyes moved dangerously slow along his bare torso. "What are you doing?" She asked pointedly.
"Oh- this?" He looked down at himself. "Just trying to get Jack to transform." He looked up at her with a goofy smile.
"Uh-huh, and you had to be naked for that, too?" She asked.
"That's what I said!" Jack shouted from the next room over.
She arched a brow as she craned her head to try to peer into the foyer, but then gave up when she realized it was futile.
"So, how was it?" She asked as he looked back at him. It took all of her strength to keep her gaze on his face. She had to use her peripheral vision to get another look at the rest of him.
"No luck." He put his hands on his hips which somehow flexed his shoulders enough for her to get an idea of the amount of muscle that wrapped around them.
