The hallways of East High were filled by the voices of its students gossiping about the last party, as usual. All of them were reading the tweets of the gossip account, discussing if they were true or not. After every party there Was always the same name in at least three tweets: Nina Salazar-Roberts.
"So, what's the gossip today?" Gina asked Carlos as they were waiting for Ricky to grab his books from his locker.
"Well, someone called the cops, party finished sooner than expected, bla bla, people throwing up..." Carlos started scrolling the account trying to find something better
"Apparently Jessica made out with Alison's boyfriend. Oh, and of course Nina kissed another player, here says they disappeared for 30 minutes, we all know what they did" He laughed and Gina joined him.
"Why do you care so much about all of this? Poor girl, why do you hate her? Since I started here, I only heard you guys talking about her" Ricky was already tired of all the gossip, it was the same thing all the time. Carlos and Gina gossiping and talking shit about people they didn't even know. He hated social media but started using it because he felt left out on Some conversations.
"Because, my dear boy Ricky, you've been here since the ending of last year. She's been involved in at least 7 relationships. She cheated on Ethan with three people. At. The. Same. Time. That's not what a nice person does. Don't defend her!" Carlos said. He was always like this, he had to always be right, even when he wasn't. Ricky was getting tired of it.
"l'm not defending her but I had to do a essay with her and she was nice. And all the proof you have on that is that gossip account that I think is a waste of time and people shouldn't believe things that an anonymous person posted. Talking about people who you don't know and start drama over nothing? That's not good"
Ricky and Carlos were looking at each other as they were about to start a fight. Ricky didn't care about their obsession with this account until he appeared on it. Someone said Gina and him hooked up in a party because they were in a bathroom together, of course, no one said that Gina was throwing up all over the house and that's why he was with her in a bathroom. The next after it was hell. Everyone staring at them, pointing. They made his friendship with Gina really tensed and weird. Since that day he avoided all their conversations about rumours, he couldn't complain a lot because they were the only people he knew in Salt Lake, it was hard for him to consider them real friends. But they were kinda fun to be around with, even if he hated their manners sometimes. He only had another year until he could escape from that city. They decided to drop this conversation and go to class, Ricky was relieved when he entered the class and sat in his seat because none of the class and sat in his seat because none of his friends were in that class. God bless Math Class and that school's weird system of separating friend groups. The teacher was late so he grabbed his phone and started scrolling through his twitter account. Most of the tweets were about incoming movies and interviews until he saw a tweet that Carlos had responded. Rolling his eyes he started to stalk the account and anger was filling his body. ____________________________________
