Ricky found Seb waiting for him at the entrance of the school, when he saw him, the blonde boy waved at him and his smile was bigger than ever. God why is he such a nice person? They sat down and started talking about stupid stuff. Ricky was trying to delay the conversation as much as he could. Of course, Seb wasn't stupid, he was really smart and knew when someone was hiding something.
"So, are you going to tell me that you're dating Nina or..." Ricky opened his month but nothing came out. He looked at his friend and he was still smiling, it didn't affect him at all.
"I'm not....we are not dating."
"Really? Ricky, we share the same class with her, I can see that every time you look at her, you are mesmerized. And, if I'm being honest, you seem happier since E.J.'s party. I was starting to believe she put a spell on you."
"Seb, I'm not dating Nini. That's not why I asked you to meet me here." Ricky stayed silent for a minute trying to find the best way to tell his friend that half of the group has been hanging out without him.
"Ricky, you're scaring me now." The smile disappeared. The worst scenarios were being thought by Seb.
"So... Here's the thing." So Ricky did it, he explained everything. Every single detail. How it happened, when, what he felt. He did not avoid anything, it took him 20 minutes to tell him all of it. But once he finished, he felt a loss on his shoulders, they were lighter. It took 3 minutes for his friend to talk again.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" Seb is known as a really expressive person, you could read him like a book, most of the days, he was always smiling through everything. Now, for the first time since they met, Ricky had no idea how he was feeling. Anger? Betrayal? Sadness? Impossible to know.
"We know how close you and Carlos are. And I'm sorry for what I'm gonna say but, you can't hide things from him. But that's 0k, I felt guilty for hanging out with Nini and hiding from all of you. I'm sorry. I understand if you are mad, just- Don't take it with them or with Nini. Get mad at me."
"I'm not mad Ricky. It's just- God, I feel so stupid." He looked at his friends and that's when he say it, He was crying. "Carlos got mad at me because I defended you. I told him that you kinda had a crush on her since you arrived here. I didn't think he was gonna get that mad at you. I'm sorry. I understand why you didn't tell me, Carlos is my best friend but when we are at school, he's a different person. I understand you, I do."
"l don't mind that you told him, it was kinda obvious at this point. Um- We are hanging out after school. If you want to... I swear they are great people. Kourtney loves fashion stuff and Nini loves musicals. You are gonna love them, really."
"Okay, I'll go. But, I deserve a private conversation with ice cream in between about you and this girl, and you can't say no, because I will start crying again!"
"Whatever you want. I really care about you, Seb. You are a great guy."
"You too, Rick. Even if you suck sometimes." He bumped his shoulder and they started laughing. They heard the bell and started walking to school.
"So... Am I allowed back in your rant and stalk you and your tweets about Nina?"
"Of course, Seb. Silly of you to think that I didn't delete them already."
"You are the worst."
