chapter 4: party

Nini arrived and not even 10 minutes after she
had already lost Madison and Kourtney.
Madison was flirting with some guy from the
football team and Kourtney was playing beer
pong with people Nini didn't know. The rest of
the party was nice, Nini had two beers and
was talking with a girl named Ashlyn. She was
nice and funny. Nini was having a good talk
with her until Gina came along. She knew that
the curly hair girl did not like Nini at all, she
didn't know why, but tried to shake that
thought away and continue the conversation.

"Nini was telling me that she writes songs!
really want to hear something one day!" Nini
Was about to answer to Ashlyn, but Gina
interrupted her.

"What do you write about?" She knew that the
question was not because she was interested
in her. It was to find something to drag her.
Ashlyn noticed it too and let out a sigh.

"Um, nothing specific. Love, heartbreak, life.
Sometimes I get inspiration from movies." She
answered but looked at Ashlyn the whole time,
who nodded and smiled at her.

"Well, you are the perfect person to talk about
heartbreak, right?" Gina said. Of course, this
caught the attention of people and started to
look at them. "I mean, you know how to break
hearts. About love, not that much, am i right?"
Gina was trying to drag her but with a smile in
her face. Nini was starting to get angry.

"Not everything you hear is true, Gina. Some
people like to use my name because they
don't want admit they are unfaithful."

"C'mon Nini, everyone knows that is just the
way you are. You like boys in relationships, but
you like them too when you are in a
relationship"

"Gina, stop" Ashlyn grabbed her friend's arm,
knowing that the storm was coming.

"No, she needs to answer me. What does it
feel Nini, knowing that a lot of people suffer
because of your entertainment?" She walked
to be in front of Nini. She could feel the breath
of alcohol in the other girl's mouth. That's why
she has so much confidence right now. "Tell
me."

"I'm not who you thinkI am, who everyone
thinks I am."

"No, you're right. You are worse. You like
taking people who don't belong to you, you
think that just because you are pretty you
have the right to do whatever you want.
People like hooking up with you because you
as easy as anyone can be. But let me break it
Out for you, no one will ever love a player. You
don't even have friends. The people you call
"friends" where are they? Not here, I see.
Because you are not worth it. Because you are
going to use them like you use every person in
this school. You are even getting uglier as time
passes. Really, you're gonna cry? You're a
pathetic" Before anyone can process what
was happening, Gina threw her drink on top of
Nini. Nini's tears transformed on anger and shame. Everyone started clapping or shouting.
She pushed Gina out of the way and left the
house.
Ricky witnessed everything and wanted to go
after her but Gina stopped him. When he
looked in her eyes, he realized how drunk and
how her ego was on the clouds. She grabbed
him and put him close to her.

"Ricky! There you are! I was looking for you!
You know, I don't know if I'm saying this
because I'm kinda tipsy or because I found the
confidence in me but, you are really hot" Before he could process anything, Gina was
leaning in to kiss him. He pushed her back.

"Gina, I think you are really drunk, you should
get water and go to sleep. I have to go." He felt
her hanging and left E.J!s house. He felt bad,
but he didn't like her back. God, if he's being
honest, he didn't even like her as a friend. Of
course, he would never admit it to her. Not
that he thought she liked him, he knew it was
just because she was drunk. He didn't know why but he felt he needed to do something. For some reason he waswalking towards somewhere, someone, like
there was a string pulling him. He found what
he was looking for. Two blocks away from the
party, in a bench, crying.
