Ricky's been waiting for Nini for at least 30 minutes before he saw her on the door of the school. She looked at him and wanted more than anything to run away and deal with this pain of not having a reciprocal love on her own. She knew that with the pass of time, she would eventually explode and fall and knowing he wasn't going to catch her, killed her. The parking lot was empty, it was in the middle of their classes, Nini asked for the bathroom pass and Ricky, well, he missed his class. He didn't care tho, she was more important.
"Hey" Ricky said, while she was getting closer to him.
"Hi. I have to go back inside in three minutes, so... what was so important?" her body was shaking, her palms were sweaty, and it looked as if she was about to cry. She hated herself right now, why did this affect her so much? She hated confrontation, she hated explanations. But mostly, she hated being lied
"I just... I needed you to know that I'm not dating Madison. Or Gina. Or anyone."
"You don't own me explanations, Ricky. I just felt stupid, that's why I didn't aswer. Out of nowhere, you were dating my friend, the some person who told me to stay away from you or whatever."
"I would never do that to you." He stayed silent, not knowing if he should do this or not. He didn't want to stay in between them, or ruin their friendship. Fuck it. She did not need or deserve someone as Madison. She deserved loyalty, something that his friends and Kourtney gave it to her. "I have to show you something Neens, I'm sorry."
So he did it. He gave her his phone and made her read his conversation with Madison.
That's how Nina is.
Nina always gets what she wants.
She targets someone.
She leaves.
I saved you from a heartbreak
Nina tried to hold back to tears but now, knowing how she talks about her behind her back, she feels betrayed. Yeah, she always knew Madison was using her, but she never believed she was this fake. Wow. She was really on her own. She didn't have anyone. Maybe she deserved it. No one likes her, she knew for sure if something happened to her, people wouldn't care. This is what loneliness feels like. Spoiler alert: it fucking sucks, it's like having a weight on your chest that no matter what you do, it doesn't leave. She's been feeling it for a year now, but she realized that she was right. Nothing mattered anymore. Fuck everything. Fuck everyone. She wiped her tears off and grabbed Ricky's hand that was on her arm, comforting her. She took it off of her. Her sadness changed to an angry one in a matter of seconds.
"Thank you, Ricky. I need to go.' She tried to leave but he was fast enough to grab her hand.
"Don't. I know what you are thinking. She's a bitch, you don't deserve her. You deserve so touch more. Nini... Please, tr-" His speech was interrupted by someone coughing. He closed his eyes, knowing who it was. Nini didn't seem to care that Gina Porter was standing in front of them, arms crossed and eyebrows up. She let go of his hand.
"Do you need something, Gina? Or do you like hearing other people's conversations? Or maybe you want to throw something else on me?" Nini was the one with arms crossed now, she was tired of being the vulnerable, the one being bullied. She was ready to fire back.
"Look who has a voice!! I'm here because you are talking to my friend. Oh sorry, a friend is a person who likes you and trusts you. I guess you don't have much of those right?""Gina, stop. Go inside. You are not part of this conversation. Leave" Ricky was getting angry, seeing how she was talking to Nini. And how Gina had a smirk plastered on her face, and how the other girl was about to break down again, after she heard her say that she didn't have friends. Gina was token back by the confidence on Ricky's voice.
