They arrived at Nini's around 15 minutes ago but they stayed at the car talking about the movie and why Kat Stratford is the best character. Their conversation ended when Nini's phone started ringing. Her mom was wondering how for away they were because curfew was about to be over and she was worried. She said that she would be home in 5 minutes, locked her phone and put it away. Ricky was looking at her with the stupidest smirk. She had to contain herself not to kiss him right in that spot. She didn't want to make the first move and for sure didn't want it to happen on his car with her neighbour screaming at his dog.
"I should go back inside. I don't want to worry-" She didn't finish her sentence because he was already opening his door, and walking around the car to open hers. She laughed when she saw him offering his hand as if she was royalty. They walked to her door and stayed there, standing in front of each other, holding each other's hands. Ricky was doing small circles around her hand and Nini was looking down, not really knowing the next move. But she really needed to go inside, even if she didn't want the night to be over.
"Thank you. For today. It was magical. You really nailed it, I mean, Heath Ledger and Shawn Mendes? Best day ever." They laughed and fell back in silence again. He let go one of her hands and placed one straw of her hair behind her ear, and then put his hand softly on her cheek. She exhaled at his touch.
"Thank you for saying yes, you are the best person that i know and the fact that you accepted going out with me, it's surreal. Also, I own you an apology because romcoms are kinda the best. I'll see you tomorrow at the party?" She nodded and before he chickened out he kissed her other cheek, really close to the corner of her lips. He didn't want to kiss her on the first date, because he wanted it to be perfect. Not on her door with her mom pecking out the window. They said their goodbyes and both of them went back on thei ways. Both of them falling asleep full of happiness, not knowing what was going to happen the next day.
