Chapter 22 : You

Erik POV

There she was standing just like before . Raoul was standing on the other side , looking at Christine wondering why is she on stage . Then Christine starts to sing . Her voice is still beautiful . Even after 10 years , it still sounds the same . Just like those voices in my head lingering for the past 10 years . She continue singing and I close my eyes . I felt my soul reaching out to her , surrendering to her as she sings .

" and yet when both are gone , love will still remain . " then she turn to look at me . She look at me as if she's telling me she will sing , sing for me which means Christine chose to stay .She chose me ! I touched my heart , it's as if my heart has been healed .
" once it has spoken , love is yours . "
then she turn to the audience and put out her hand , " love never dies . Love never alters . Hearts may get broken , love endures . Hearts may get broken .. " she turn to Raoul . Raoul look so defeated , of course he is , Christine choose to stay and sing . Raoul walk away . At first Christine wanted to went after him but she stop and turn to look at me and smile . I cannot believe this , she actually chose to stay .
" Love lives on ! " and then everything stop . She's amazing , beautiful everything . The audience clap so loud and Christine was smiling . That's the first time I saw her smile so brightly ever since she came here .

" Ah Christine , my Christine , what a triumph you gave me tonight ! " I touch her shoulder .
" My Christine all the dark silent years now put right ! "
I was smiling so hard , feeling proud of the performance she put up . And that she chose to stay by her own will .

Christine POV
I was smiling like an idiot . I felt genuinely happy and did not regret this choice I made . The choice to stay and sing . Sing for him and also for myself .
" the song was beautiful , it sounded beautiful . Every note , every word . "
this song he composed it speaks to me like it was meant for me .
" and it felt beautiful and I felt beautiful .. "
I hold his hands and look at him in the eyes .

" lost in the music once more , feeling it rise up and soar . Alive once again ! "

He pulled me closer to him and we kiss . Finally , after 10 years longing for his kiss , it finally happen . We kissed so passionately , I do not want it to stop but he pulled away from the kiss and kiss my hand . I was smiling like an idiot . Then I saw him looking at my table , I turn and saw a letter with red rose on top of it . I let Erik go and took that letter . It's from Raoul .

" My dearest wife , little Lotte , I beg you forgive me " Raoul , no...
" little Lotte , ah what fools we once were long ago in our youth in Paris at the opera .. "
" Romantic idiots, those two people are gone ... Now I must go , our choices are made . The opera is done , the last notes have been played . May your angel of music watch over you now and give you what I wish I gave you somehow .. Yours in regret , Raoul . "

Oh Raoul , I'm so sorry . I chose Erik because I really love him and I can't imagine my life without him again . I really hope you understands Raoul , it will never be fair to you if I stayed with you yet love another man . Gustave will remember you .. wait Gustave , where's Gustave ? !
