Chapter 13 - Surprise

'New message from Suho'

'New message from Chanyeol'

My phone showed notification above. I opened the messages. "Khamsamnida (thank you)" it read.

'Of course I should feel happy, I should be on seventh cloud but after reading their message I felt downhearted. Why..'

"Can you please turn the car and drop me near Nehru Park"

"Sure"

I didn't want to go back home and BHU was still far away. And the park was near their hotel only. My cab crossed their hotel and I was looking up near to their balcony. The cab dropped me near the park. I went in.

It was winter afternoon and park got opened just a few minutes ago. So there were very less people. I occupied one bench at one corner of the park.

Kept my belongings besides me. I sat over the bench comfortably with my legs up and stared at their text.

'When was the last time someone noticed my efforts.' My eyes got filled with tears.

'I don't remember anyone who ever acknowledged me for my work or anything, except my family and a few friends. My existence is limited to only these people. For others I'm like an invisible person. I usually don't initiate first to talk and so no one ever took that step towards me too..I was neither so smart nor beautiful like those girls who are always the centre of attraction. Nor I was so intelligent like those, from whom everyone wants to take the notes..I am not complaining about people that they treat me this way or that way..I am happy with myself but sometimes it really hurts.'

'And after those bitter experiences.. here I am.. looking at a simple text of appreciation. It may means nothing to them but for me..it's everything. Specially when you get it from them'.

I was smiling and my tears were still struggling to come out of my eyes.
My phone ranged..Rakhi was on the call.

"Hello"

"Hey Arushi, just wait a second."

It was a conference call. So all 4 of us were there.

"We were just planning about Navi's marriage. We, somehow, have to take our time off and have to reach Pune on time." Manisha said

"Yes, we should" I said in low voice.

"What happened, is everything fine??" Navi asked.

"Are you crying?" Everyone said in a loud voice.

"Aaaa Noooo..."I said hesitantly.

"Are you worried again because of your enrollment? We have already told you that it's 70% confirmed that you will be chosen then why are you crying. Don't you believe in us." One of them said.

"No it has nothing to do with it." I replied

"Then what?"

"Nothing.." I paused for 2-3 seconds and said, "Thank you"

"Now what is this? Why suddenly thank you?" They yelled.

"Nothing I just wanted to say it, want to appreciate you all..thank you for being in my life"

"Hey!! What's wrong with this girl!! Where are you right now? Aren't you home?" One of them said worriedly.

"I'm fine. I'm not at home. I'm sitting in Nehru park"

Then I told them the whole incident that took place since morning. How they texted me and why I got emotional. While explaining them, I burst into tears which I was holding on since very long.

"It's alright Arushi!! Why are you crying for this. It's a good thing that they are appreciating you so why to feel sad." They consoled me.

Suddenly I heard, "Arushi"

I looked up..to my surprise Chanyeol and Suho were standing in front of me, in the park.
