The Miracle We Met

Chapter 30 - The Meeting

We stood up, lead by my brother, went to my parents room. We sat on the chairs side by side. My brother left the room saying he would come back in a few minutes.

We two were awkwardly silent for a few minutes. Then he initiated,

"Don't feel that uncomfortable. You can ask me anything if you want. Any questions?"

"No" I replied straightforward in a single word.

"No question for me?what do I do? How much I earn?"
He was polite.

"No" My single reply again.

He smiled and said, "Ohk so let me start..do you have any wish which you want to fulfill very badly?"

I nodded my head in yes, thought for a sec and said, "Visit South Korea"

He laughed, "That's it?? No other country?"

"No" I said again. Not even for once I looked into his eyes. I was looking constantly on floor.

"Do you know Vartika?" He said suddenly.

That time I looked up at him in suprise.
"Yes, she is my school friend!! How do you know her?"

"Well!! I have met her a few times. We have some common friends." He was feeling proud that at last he made me to speak.

"But how do you know that I know Vartika?" I was still confused.

"Because she told me." He said smiling.

'But why she told him first not to me. We were school friends.'

"A few days back, I saw your pic on her social media account so I asked her." He said.

'That means my pics are already being circulated by my parents. That's how he must have seen me. How can they do this again without even asking me.'

"She is so good and intelligent. She is beauty with brain." He said to break the silence, after seeing that I was lost in my thoughts.

"Oh yes!! She is..that's why she is quite popular there in Jnu too. Earlier she was in DU." I said after returning from my thought.

"Yes!! You know one of my friend asked her out and she said..." Darsh started telling various funny incidents which they had back then. Some were really funny. I hardly controlled my laughter.

After having a good laugh, he said, "Now as the environment is much more friendly from previous tensed moments, you can tell me the matter."

"Matter"I asked.

"Yes!! For the one, which you have been preparing yourself all these while." As he said these words, I looked towards him.

'How can he read my mind'

"Your expression says it all." He answered.

"I don't know how you got me..but yes it's true. I have to say something." I gathered courage.

He was still looking at me.
"I don't want myself to get engaged in all these stuff. For now, my first priority is my PhD. I want to complete it first and get a stable job. I tried explaining these things to my parents but they aren't ready to hear me. I thought you will understand as you know how much career is important for our generation." I said in one breath.

"Of course, my parents told about all these things. They don't have problem with it. According to them, they will give you time to do everything what you want. So don't take tension about it."

He said it in such a way that my problem was not that big concerning point for him.

'I threw a bouncer but he took it to a six. What I should do now.'

"That's it..any other problem?" He said in a comfortable voice.

"I have someone" I closed my eyes and blurted it out. 

I opened my eyes and looked at him.
He was sitting, putting his face on his palm,fingers folded.

"You are quite bold." He said with a smile again.

"I had to tell you that because I don't want to hide anything. Apart from career, this is the main reason." I tried explaining.

"Is this thing not affecting your career?" He questioned.

"No..we are like in a long distance relationship. He lives in another country and busy with his own stuff. We are still building our career, we are like great support to each other."

"What about your parents? I don't think they have any idea about it." He guessed.

"Yes!! They don't..but I will tell them sooner or later. But for now.."

"Ohk I understood." Darsh stood up.
He started walking back and forth and said,

"But for now, let's make it very natural. Actually I have someone too..I just came here after my parents requested me. At least we have this much liberty that we can say that we both tried to know each other but our frequency couldn't match. That way, it won't hurt them and our ways will be separated again."

I liked his plan. So we agreed with it.

After coming out of the room. We exchanged our phone numbers in front of our parents. And said we still need time to know each other. They agreed happily. We just have to act that we have met each other, talked with each other but it didn't worked.

That day was so long. Once they went in the evening. I left the house after one hour to come back to the hostel.

As soon as I reached my hostel, Chanyeol called me, "Hey what happened?"

"Yeah!! It was good!" I said sitting on my bed relaxing.

"Good means?" He said in a loud voice.

"It went with our plan. I told him and he understood it well. My plus point was that he too have someone. He was forced to come because of his parents." I explained him.

"That's a relief." I felt satisfaction in his voice.

"By the way, what did you tell him?" He asked again.

"Same thing that I have to focus on my career and all." I don't know why I didn't tell him about my second and main reason.

"Did he understand, right away? That's strange " Chanyeol said.

"What's strange in it..he was not that bad. Good looking, smart, intelligent,polite salary.. everything was perfect." I said in teasing way.

"Yaaa what's good about it. Just look around you, you will find many such guys." Chanyeol said these things in adorably cute way.

"What!!Where!! I can't find anyone." I said mockingly.

"Then no need to find. Focus on your studies. Now take rest. What happened with your New Delhi plan?" He said.

"Yeah!! Few more days to go. I have to complete a lot before going there. And what's your plan on 27th?" I remembered his birthday.

"Nothing..just I will be celebrating birthday according to the norms, with my fans one day before. On 27th, I think I have a schedule but still it is not confirm so let's see."
Chanyeol said.
