Chapter 16

Authors POV

Within a matter if seconds Mike's shock turned into anger. He was about to stand up when Trace held his hand.
'Calm down babe. We are in class and its filled with humans. This is not the time or place' Mike immediately calmed down at the touch of his mate. Trace always had that effect on him. If it had been anyone else he would have gone all Alpha crazy on him.
No one told him what to do but Trace was right.
It was not the right time to look for answers.

He took a deep breath to try and relax but when he caught wind of Rex's scent he tensed.
'He is now a werewolf' he linked his mate in shock.
'I know now relax and keep calm' Trace said as he rubbed his thumb on the back of his hand.
Kevin and John gave them knowing looks but Trace gave them the 'we will talk about this later' look.
They all relaxed and pretended as if everything was okay. Kevin did his best to also keep his mate calm.

"Rex is that you? It's good to see you. I was worried my best student was never going to come back" Mrs Black said with a smile.
She had always liked Rex because he seemed to be the only student actually interested in school.
"Its good to see you too. I had a few things to take care of but that's all settled now" he responded with a smile and both boys and girls in the classroom couldn't help but admire his good looks.

"Is it just me or Rex got hotter" one girl whispered.
"I don't know if its the hair or he has been working out but he looks so damn edible" her friend said.
'MINE' Iris' wolf did not like how they were literally undressing his mate with their eyes. He glared at them and they immediately shut up and looked away.
'Jelous?' Rex chuckled as he asked.
'Shut up' Iris responded.

"I can see you brought some friends" Mrs Black said catching the attention of the rest of the pack. The girls were drooling again.
Iris,Cedric, Xerxes, Shaun,Leo, Seth, Luke, Kaden, Keith, Chris and Ty all introduced themselves before taking their seats at the opposite end of the class away from Mike and his band of misfits.
They glared at each other before forcusing on Mrs Black.
It was Communication Skills, which was a compulsory class for everyone.
They would all separate to attend subjects more specific to their degree courses from the next hour.

Rex's POV

I didn't realize how angry I was until I locked eyes with Mike.
I was mad he lied to me, pretended to be my friend,  while planning who knows what behind my back and then beating me to death.
I didn't end up dying but that was his intention.

As soon as I saw how shocked he was I smirked.
I could see he was struggling to relax especially when I felt the waves of his anger.
Did you really hate me that much? 
'Just give me the chance and I will rip him to shreds' Nix roared.
'Calm down. This is not the time or place' I calmed my wolf down. It was still strange but I was slowely getting used to the fact that it was now me and my wolf in this body.
He was very overprotective of me but at times like this we would talk things out.
He didn't like what I went through and promised no one would hurt me again because he was now a part of me.

As we sat in class Iris made sure to sit next to me and hold my hand.
Nix loved it when our mate showed us affection and calmed down.
At first I was a bit worried I wouldn't be able to handle going back to varsity but now i know I'm not alone.
That is what gives me the confidence to keep going.
