Chapter 22

Rex's POV

"First things first where are the kids?" I asked.
"They was an issue with a neighboring pack and so I sent them there to check it out" Chris responded.
"Good. Because I don't want then to know this much for now. I will reveal myself to them on my own. Especially the twins"  I said.

As soon as I was done explaining my life story everyone was silent. Even Cedric was speechless and that never happened. I took a deep breath before breaking the silence.
"I know this is all shocking and crazy. Everyone views me as some hero when I'm just cursed. I was destined to protect the world and in order to do that my life will always be a sacrifice. Because of this I was always on my own, so I just waited for the right time to fulfil my duty" I explained.

"Why did you take us in then?" Keith asked trying to put the pieces together.
"It wasn't my intention to take anyone in or even create a pack. I had never even had a mate until I met  Iris. Caritas mea aeternam. The original plan was to dump Seth in some nearby pack but the little guy wouldn't let me go and..."
"Hey I'm way older than you now" Seth said with a smirk.
"Believe me when I say you cannot comprehend how old I really am. This mortal form means nothing pup" I said and he pouted in response. I really missed him. I missed everyone.

"So this means you're basically a god considering who your parents are" Shaun said.
"Yes and no. Because of the reasons behind my conception I was stripped of a godly title and most of my powers. They left me with enough to do what I needed to do but not enough to elevate myself or challenge them" I explained and they seemed to understand.

"This explains a lot. Especially considering things that happened after you left" Shaun said.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"We sort of developed special abilities after you died. We didn't tell you before because we were still not sure about your identity" Shaun explained.
This was amazing information.  It might be because I was their Alpha or a gift from the moon goddess. I will have to ask her later.

" Novus (interesting)" I said in response before Shaun explained their abilities.

Luke - Telekinesis
Chris - Flight
Shaun - Water control
Leo - Healing
Iris - Manipulate weather and electricity
Carter - Lighting
Keith - Earth control
Ty - Time Control
Kaden - Teleportation
Seth - Wind manipulation

"So is there no way the curse can be broken?" Iris finally spoke after being silent for a long time.
I looked into his eyes and I could see his worry and concern. He was still stuck on the curse meaning he was worrying about me dying again.
I raised my hand to caress his cheek as he relaxed into my touch but kept his eyes on mine. I gave him a sad smile because my answer was not pleasing.

"Sadly I'm stuck with this curse. The last time I died I begged the moon goddess to appeal to the gods for me but it didn't help. They refuse to see me and so they refuse to lift the curse. This is my destiny for eternity" I said and Iris wrapped his arms around my shoulders holding me close as he settled on my lap.
"I'm so sorry. It must have been so hard for you. To bear this on your own. To carry this burden. To live this life" he said.
"It was all worth it when I met you. You brought meaning to my existence when it meant nothing before amica mea (my love)" I said before he pulled back to kiss me.

"How much time do you have this time?" He asked the question I was dreading the most.
"Honestly I'm not sure. Since I basically just woke up this morning I need to reactivate my powers if I can say it like that. I will know when the time is right" I said and they all looked sad about the whole situation.

"So what's next?" Seth asked.
"We go on with our daily activities. We will deal with the future when it arrives. For now I want to hear what you guys have been up to for the past 150 years" I said and they all smiled.
