Chapter 21

Rexs POV

Iris and I were finally able to keep our hands off each other. Well we thought we were until we got carried away in the shower.
I couldn't get enough of my mate. The return of my memories amplified my feelings for him. I loved him more than anything and I'm guilty from being away from him for so long.
Thank you mom for bringing is back together. You kept your promise even though I wish this had happened sooner.

As soon as we were done dressing up we left our bedroom before we got carried away again.
We went straight to the kitchen and everyone was already there.
The fact that I now remembered who I really was changed everything. Everyone looked different because they were no longer strangers I had just recently met, but the family I have always known and love.

"Finally. It sounded like someone was getting strangled last night and I thought someone died. Well that was until I heard the same thing if not worse this morning" Cedric was the first to speak as he spotted the couple walk in.
"I thought our room was soundproof" I responded with a smile. I didn't really care if they heard or not.
"Sound proof walls are not enough for Iris's screams. Never have and never will"Cedric said and immediately received a slap behind the head from Iris. I chuckled in response.

"Baby he hit me"Cedric said pouting at his mate.
"You deserved it" Xerxes said in response and everyone laughed.Cedric just frowned because his call for attention didn't work.
We sat down and Keith passed us two plates with mountains of pancakes.

"After last night and this morning you two need it more than we do" Keith said and everyone laughed again. Iris just rolled his eyes and I smiled. He was still as sassy as ever. I missed him so much.
"Its good to know I haven't lost my touch" I said but soon they was silence. It was a bit uncomfortable and I looked up to see everyone looking at me. Then it clicked.

"Rex what do you mean? Last night was our first time and you said you haven't been with anyone else" Iris asked and I could see he wasn't happy about the idea of me having slept with anyone else other than him.
"Calm down Iris. I have only been with you caritas mea aeternam (my eternal love)" I said and his eyes became so wide I thought they would shoot right out but I got more concerned when they filled with tears. I knew this would happen but after all we have been through they was no need to hide who I was now that I remembered.
"I'm sorry I took so long to come back to you" I said and immediately his tears came down like a waterfall as he jumped on me.

"Shhhh...I'm sorry amica mea" I said as I held him tight. As soon as his cries turned to sniffles he let go of me before punching me in the stomach.
"Owww...what was that for?" I asked.
"That's for keeping me waiting for 150 years and pretending you don't know me" Iris was back to being his happy self as he kissed me again.
"That's for coming back" Iris was now grinning at me. Our moment was ruined when someone cleared their throat.

" Iris right. Why did you pretend not to know us" Seth asked and I could see he wasn't happy.
"I wasn't pretending not to remember. I genuinely didn't know anything and I feel stupid now that its all come back to me. I only got my memories back after mating with Iris" I explained.
"If I had known that's all It took I would have jumped on you on day one" Iris lashed out realizing his decision to give me time to adjust delayed our reunion. "Either way I'm glad you came back to me. I was feeling terrible thinking I was replacing you with a carbon copy but I'm glad it's really you" Iris said before kissing me again.
"We all missed you" Shaun said and everyone agreed.

"So are you back for good?" Chris asked and everyone went tense.
I took a deep breath because telling them the whole truth was going to be tough but things were different now and they deserved the whole truth.
"Its time I told you guys everything. The legend of the phoenix you have all come to know is just a tip of the iceberg."
