Capítulo V- Regresar a la Isla de los Perdidos
Pandora rode on Lilith's back to the Isle. She crossed the vast calm ocean with ease, not a single wave tumbled her to the sea below. They stopped at the edge of the barrier, Pandora raised her hand and pressed her palm against it. A burning sensation hit her whole arm and a hiss escaped her lips, retrieving her hand.
She created a platform, hopping off Lilith as she dissolved into sand. Pandora turned into her shadow form. Using all her strength, she forced herself to enter the isle. She ignored the burning sensation she received as she made her way through. Finally, Pandora passed through and landed on the sandy beach next to her manor.
Once again, she summoned Lilith and travelled up the steep hill to the back entrance. The frigid stone walls welcomed her, sending a shiver down her spine. Pandora held onto Lilith's reins as they both strolled through the halls. Pandora furrowed her eyebrows at the candles freshly placed on the sconce. They would have died out months ago with the manor being vacant.
A noise echoed the hall, Pandora and Lilith looked at one another. Vigilant, Pandora created a dagger whilst Lilith disappeared. She tip-toed to the sound, leading to the kitchen. A light hum stopped Pandora in her tracks. Her jaw dropped and crawled out of her hiding place. "Mother?"
Nevada dropped the utensil alarmed, she faced Pandora in shock. "Pandora?" she said as her hand was over her heart. "What are you doing back?"
Pandora was at a loss for words. Many thoughts raced in her mind, unable to comprehend the sudden truth. Pandora crashed into her mother's arms. Her knees buckled and Nevada caught her before she fell.
Nevada carefully sat themselves down on the floor as Pandora profusely cried into her arms. Nevada ran her hands through her hair, hoping it calmed her down. Black tears stained her red shirt. "He said you were dead," Pandora's lips quivered trying to keep her voice steady.
Nevada held her tighter, "I'm right here, Pandora."
"Why did he lie?"
"He knew about your betrayal. The coronation was broadcasted everywhere, he saw the look you gave Ben. There was nothing I could do, but I'm alive and breathing like you are?" she raised Pandora's chin and wiped her tears off. Nevada tucked her hair behind her ear. "Would you like some dinner?"
Pandora nodded, peeling herself off her mother and helped her up. Pandora plopped on the chair waiting for Nevada. She put a plate and a cup in front of her filled with the leftover food from dinner. Pandora's stomach growled, begging her to eat. To come and think of it she hadn't eaten anything since lunch.
She ate slowly not wanting to get a stomach ache from eating too fast. Pandora stared at Nevada across the table. Pitch was cruel but never had he done something this cruel. Throughout the years, his corrupted heart grew worse. And it was always to get what he wanted.
