Capítulo VIII- Audrey
Pandora slanted back on a chair bouncing her knee, next to Audrey's bed. Barely clinging to life, Audrey was laying on her bed with a thin blanket covering her waist and down. Pandora never meant to hurt Audrey. Neither did Jude nor Uma.
Pandora never wanted to hurt her even if she wasn't Audrey's biggest fan. She understood the pain Audrey held after a very long time. Pandora was so caught up in her own world that she didn't bother to give a simple glance to Audrey. She took her boyfriend and life, literally. Audrey's future life and physically attacking her.
Pandora didn't take the time to apologize and understand her pain until nearly a year later. She understood from a certain angle. When Uma spelled Ben, it brought her excruciating pain, but the main difference was that Pandora got to keep Ben at the end of the day and Audrey didn't. It brought Audrey so much misery that she had to attend summer school to make up the credits she lost from depression.
Evie checked Audrey's pulse on her left wrist, "She's slipping away."
Mal peeled herself off Jude and stared at Audrey. "There's only one person in the whole world who might be able to do something about this and that's Hades."
Pandora turned her head to Mal. "Hades?" she and Ben said in unison. "I wouldn't risk it," Ben finished.
"Actually, he might do it for me." Mal paused. "He's my father," she clarified. The teens stared at Mal in shock.
Jude pried himself off the wall he leaned against, "You're a demigod? That's so cool," he mumbled the last sentence.
"Okay," Ben agreed. "Well, I'll have to send guards to get him."
"Maybe I can hitch a ride," said Uma. "The Isle is my home, someone needs to be there and protect it."
Harry walked behind her and placed his hands on her shoulder, "Well, then, you will need your fist mate."
Mal smiled at Uma, "Then the Isle will be in very good hands."
"Can I go, too?" Celia rose from the bay window. "I wish I could be in both places."
Jude faced Celia with a knowing nod. Though he would miss her, he accepted her decision. The isle was to her home and Celia did not want to leave permanently. From experience, Jude understood how it could affect someone not seeing their family in a long time. He wrapped an arm around the shorter girl's shoulder.
"I'm sorry," Pandora said. She stood up and looked at each VK. "I'm sorry I lied to all of you about the barrier. It was completely selfish of me to do that."
