While we was cleaning the room up Jake asked me about the baby.
"How far along are you?"
"Well the doctor told me about a month. Do you have a girlfriend?"
"No I don't. Is the father still with you?"
"Umm....No he don't want nothing to do with me or the baby."
"Oh I'm sorry I asked Alex."
"Its fine."
For a while we stayed quiet and neither of us spoke.
"Alex are you ready for this baby?"
By then I was sitting on the floor zoned out. I thought about the question and I answered.
"Yeah I am my dad knows and supports me. And I already feel attached to this butterball."
I laughed at that and so did Ryan.
"Well I'm here for you either way."
"Thanks Jake!"
I got up and hugged him.
"Your welcome."
We stayed like that until we heard my dad come in. We walked down the stairs and my dad stopped and looked at Jake.
"Hey sir I'm Jake."
"I'm Alex's father. How do y'all know each other?"
"We met at Lowe's she asked me for my help with which color she should get for the baby room."
My dad looked all serious and I couldn't blame him. The last guy he trusted with his daughter got her pregnant.
"Well Alex I've got to go its getting late. Text me if you need any help with anything else."
"OK I will thanks for helping me today."
"Your welcome."
He hugs me and walks out the house. My dad looks at me and smiles.
"What?" I say smiling.
"I haven't seen you smile like that in a while."
"Yeah well he makes me happy with my life daddy."
"That's how your mom made me feel Alex. Don't screw it up baby girl."
"I wont daddy. Please tell me you got food?"
"Yes I did haha and enough for three if you know what I mean haha."
"Thank God haha!"
We sat down and ate. And after I got done I stood up and kissed my dad on the forehead and told him goodnight and I loved him.
