Emily watched as Abigail paced in the throne room, after they traveled back home from Nightwick. She saw the hesitation becoming more obvious. "Are you sure you want to do this?" She asked. Abigail nodded holding a vile to her lips drinking a potion. Nothing happened Abigail frowned. Then suddenly Abigail screamed with her hand over her chest shaking like a leaf she fell to the floor. Emily jumped up and ran to her laying her head in her lap. Emily was stunned as Abigail sat up groaning minutes later, her mistress's hair was dark brown and so was her eyes. "Mistress it worked!" Emily cried. Abigail's eyes were wide. "Really?!" She squealed excitedly running to a mirror. "Quick hand me that bucket of water please!" Cried Abigail as Emily went and grabbed the bucket of water she had been using to scrub the floors with. Abigail stuck her finger in the bucket waiting for the burning sensation. But there was no burning sensation. "Yes! No more lava baths! No more gloves no more fear!" She cried not realizing the consequence that would soon come to pass.

Scarlett paced in Jason's (AKA the Blaze King) throne room. In eight days it would be eighteen years since they gave up their oldest daughter. Scarlett sighed and held the baby blanket she had, the only remembrance of her daughter. "My sweet baby I'm sorry." She whispered. She remembered the night after it had been five years, when she got up the courage to get her daughter back and what she saw. Ashely and her husband dead, and Abigail, Claire, and Brook missing. Scarlett searched for her daughter after seeing the dead, burned, squid hybrid. She knew her daughter must have gotten her powers at last. She could never find Abigail, no matter how hard she tried. Eventually she came to the conclusion that Abigail was dead. Jason walked up and kissed Scarlett. "We'll find her again one day I promise love." He said Scarlett smiled and pecked his cheek.
