Memories kept so close at heart.
Pictures, letters, stories, anything.
But in reality, memories are just a figment of ones imagination.
Holding on to something that time has eradicated for good.

Let it go.

*****

Akagi cleared some files that had to be prepared for the national kyudo competition at the end of the winter. "Thank you kaichou," She bowed a little in front of the Student Council President who gave her approval for the budget and other statements.

"You're leaving now?" Momoi asked while looking at a large folder on Akagi's arm.

"Yes, I have to go to the Kyudo Association office to get a stamp and permission."

"Are you okay? Your feelings are good, right?" Her pair of pink eyes looked closely to Akagi who showed her sweetest smile.

"I'm fine, thanks to you guys." She sighed. "Actually I'm just thinking about Akashi now."

Momoi snorted.

"I hate Akashi-kun. What on earth is he thinking about kissing that damn girl?" She pouted, a sign of being really annoyed.

Akagi patted her friend's cheek. "Stop pouting. You look ugly." She laughed. "I need to go, see you later, Satsuki."

That ash-haired girl trotted down the hall and her scarlet eyes were fixed on the view outside the window when several small white objects fell from the sky.

"Waaah!" Her hand hurriedly opened the window in front of her. "Snow!" She screamed in joy. Her head looked up at the sky while enjoying the falling snowflakes slowly in her hand.

"Oi, close the window, it's cold." Ask one of the students standing nearby.

"Hihi, I'm sorry." Akagi said as she closed the window which was fogged with cold.

'That's right, it's almost the end of December. Tomorrow is the twentieth..'

*****

Akagi had just stepped out from a large building behind her. She was busy pressing her phone and typing a few messages to people who are the least she want to meet right now.

Yuuta.

She briefly peeked into her bag. Looking for a letter of invitation that must be given to Yuuta because Rakuzan is registered as a special participant. That girl pulled her coat tighter due to cold weather since the snowfall had not stopped yet.

"Will it snow until tonight?" She murmured while raising her palm to catch the white splinters.

"It seems so."

Akagi hurriedly turned towards the origin of the familiar voice that she just heard.

"Long time no see, Akagi-chan,"

No one spoke at that table. Both of them only stared their gaze at the two steaming tea cups and a letter of invitation which placed on the table.

"How are you?" Yuuta opened the conversation while sipping his tea.

"Oh, eh, fine. How about you?" Akagi asked him back.

That brick-eyed man looked at the girl in front of him. There is a burning desire in his heart which made him want to hug her.

"Fine," he answered shortly. His hands were busy playing the edges of his teacup. "How.."

"Huh?"

"You, with President Seijūrō. How's your relationship with him?" He asked while looking at the pair of scarlet eyes in front of him. "I'm sorry I presumptuously asked, but I know what is going on between you—"

"We're fine." Akagi cut off his words quickly. "Akashi and I are good."

Yuuta gritted his teeth. What's good about it? Why does this girl in front of him still see that her strange relationship with Akashi is a fine relationship? Is she crazy?

"Are you OK even after he kissed Yōkō?"

Akagi widened her eyes.

"How do you—"

"It doesn't matter how I know he kissed Yōkō." He softly grabbed her hand. "How could you think that was okay?"

Akagi avoided Yuuta's gaze. Not because she did not want to look at him. But because everything Yuuta said was true. What's so good about her relationship with Akashi? Everything is not all right.

Yuuta took a deep breath before releasing his hand and took off his glasses while massaging his forehead.

"Have you talked about it?"

Akagi shook his head.

"Why the hell are you two always avoiding when there are problems?" Yuuta looked angry and roughly ruffled his hair. Look all fustrated. His eyes slightly glanced at the girl who kept looking down before him.

"Hey Akagi-chan. Can I say something?"

"Y-yes please" Akagi stammered.

"You really love President Seijūrō, huh? Even though he does so many bad things to you, why—"

"I was wondering too." Akagi cut his words and leaned her back on the chair then hugged the bag she had been holding. "It'd be better if I gave up, right?"

She smiled thinly as she realized that all this while she had just been troubled by the same things. But even though she already think that way, why she couldn't stop loving him?

"Am I no good to you?"

'Eh?'

He sharply stared at her eyes. "I know if I compared myself to President Seijūrō, I am absolutely not as cool as him. And I am not saying that I'm better than him too. But.." He clenched his fists tightly. "I won't hurt you or make you cry. Or kissed some random girl just to know the story about your past."

She blinked her eyes. "What do you mean?"

Yuuta let out a long sigh.

"You really don't know, huh? He kissed Yōkō because he wanted to know what the hell happenend between you and her." He paused before continuing his words. "Yōkō asked him to kiss her so she will tell him about you and her brother."

Akagi looked at him in disbelief. So, what Akashi did for all this time was to find out about her past? What an idiot!

"So just like as I said before. If loving that person is so painful for you.. I'll be here."

Akagi took Yuuta's hand and held it gently. Her eyes was brimming with tears but she couldn't stop smiling.

"You must think I'm a fool right? I confessed but told you about President Seijūrō instead "

"No Akagi-kun. You're a good person. And I am very grateful for all your attention to me. But.." She stared at him closely. Her slender fingers stroked the hand that once hugged her any time when she needs support.

"Don't make me choose. Because it will be him. It's always been him. I will always choose Akashi Seijūrō"
