anonymous asked: How would Reno & Rude deal with their sensitive pregnant wives? How would it be on due day and first months after birth? Goodbye propper sleep lol So basically Reno and Rude with pregnant reader and baby headcanons :D Love your writing btw!

reno

reno can't lie that he's slightly intimated by you whilst you're pregnant. he doesn't want to set you off into an angry rage, nor does he want you to be upset by anything he says or does. he can sometimes be a bit insensitive, so he has to really watch what he says in case he incurs your wrath. you're the one doing all of the hard work, and he certainly doesn't want to do anything to undermine how you feel at all - you're giving him a blessing and he respects that immensely. you have every right to swear and curse at him when he's being an asshole.

he was definitely your biggest support during the birth - even though he kind of felt a bit light headed after you almost broke his hand - and he'll be there encouraging you all the way. but sometimes his encouragement was a bit too much, and he was just saying things for the sake of saying them. you'll have to tell him to shut up at some points when he gets particularly annoying, and he just grins through the pain when you get mad at him for not saying and just staring at you after a little while.

when your baby makes it home for the first time, he does as much as physically possible. he doesn't want you to feel overwhelmed at all - you've just been through one of the most challenging things that a person can go through, so he definitely wants you to be able to take a step back and recover. that being said, he's kind of a wimp when it comes to changing diapers, so you'll probably be called up for some of the bigger messes. everything else he has down to a t, and he's without a doubt one of the most enthusiastic fathers you could ever meet.

rude

rude isn't a hugely emotional guy, so he may struggle to understand why you're feeling so emotional and sensitive. sure, he knows theoretically speaking that women tend to become more sensitive during their pregnancies due to the amount of hormones pumping through them, but he still struggles to see the warning signs. then again, sometimes your mood can go from 0 to 100, and even you aren't expecting it, so he can be kind of excused for not seeing it coming. he definitely will try to become more sensitive to how you're feeling now, and will be a shoulder to cry on for you.

during labour, rude really steps up to the plate and is probably the most supportive father there ever has been. he'll get you anything and everything you need, constantly ask nurses and doctors when you can get your next round of pain relief (should you want it of course), hold your hand throughout the entire process, whispering gentle words of encouragement to you. he'll accept the slew of insults like a champ, and probably will apologise to you, mostly because he feels bad for all the pain you're in. he'll look after you and tend to you more than your midwife and other medical professionals.

rude is, without a doubt, a super dad. he can do everything and anything all at once, and becomes the ultimate master of multitasking. baby needs feeding and mama needs coffee? he has two arms for a reason. there's a dirty diaper and an important phone call he needs to answer? the person on the other end of the line won't even know he's doing something else. he instantly manages to soothe your baby when they start crying, and will downright refuse to let anyone look after your baby for the first couple months. he wants to be there for every single milestone, and he'll damn well make that happen.
