Olivia's POV:

I prepare the last touches to my bracelets and smile as I look at the one thing that can keep the Uniter from empathizing with humans. Titanium infused silver is the key to keeping us off her empathy radar. I smirk as I think about Henry's text to me. He said Chloe didn't suspect a thing and Amy practically worships him. I called Pizza Hut and ordered Henry's favorite pizza. He'll be happy to get it when he comes back. I look down at my bracelet as I realize I didn't stick the diamond needle in properly and pull it out. I finally get it in and empty the syringe. After a day, this set of bracelets will be ready. I can't say how long it took us to realize the key to blocking their powers. All I know is that the inability to keep them from reading our emotions caused many deaths in The Order. I'd have to deliver the bad news to their families and that was never fun. We eventually started looking for a loophole. We captured one Mai and tortured it until it told us how the empathy worked. We offered it the chance to not be tortured if it willingly helped us find a way around the empathy hits. That was the very first rogue Mai to walk the earth.

She helped us test the bracelets by seeing if she could read our emotions. We eventually found their personal kryptonite. Since then, our rogue Mai have worn them while going out on missions to destroy other prides of Mai. Sometimes it was by causing infidelity among the leaders. Most of the time the rogues just acted like a visitor and attacked the pride at night. I take the bracelets to the cellar and put them on a shelf with others. I smile and pick up a pair that's ready. I slip them on and call Henry. He picks up on the first ring. "Hello?" I smile as I think of our plan. "I'm going to visit you, my dear. What's your address?" I hear silence and I put the phone on speaker so I can get my keys and purse. "Actually, I'm at a friend's house, grandma." I hear someone in the background and I smile knowing what's coming. "Okay! Grandma, my friend says you can come here." I smile as I hear more voices. The more people I get to trust me the better. Chloe could be an issue though. She knows me as Brian's grandma. "Henry, is there a young woman named Chloe there?" I hear more talking in the background and a young man's voice. A door closes and Henry clears his throat. "She just left with her boyfriend." I walk out the door and lock it behind me. "I'm on my way. Text me the address."

"Okay." I hang up and walk to my car. I speed to the penthouse and run six red lights in the process. I don't care as I hear horns blasting at me. I arrive in record time and go up to the right floor. I knock gently and a young woman with black hair answers the door. "Hi. I'm Jasmine. You're Henry's grandma." I smile at her and nod. "May I come in?" She steps aside and I walk into the penthouse. It's exactly like I thought a Mai residence would be. Artifacts line the walls and I spot an artifact on the wall that's in pieces. I walk over to it and look at it closely. "It's a piece representing the Uniter." I turn around and Jasmine is standing there. "It's lovely. I must tell you the truth. I'm not Mai. My ancestors fell in love with Mai. I ended up a human and..." I drift off and look at Henry. "Darling, I am sorry I kept that from you. You turned out Mai." Henry fakes hurt just like we planned. "How could you, grandmother?" I force myself to cry and try to hug him. "No! Don't touch me!" I drop my arms and turn to Jasmine. "I think it best if we leave." Jasmine nods. "I understand." I usher Henry out of the building and we get in my car. "Well played, Henry. Now I know where to go when we finally decide to attack." I pull out of the parking lot, but not before seeing a red convertible pull in with two girls and one boy in the cab. Henry ducks when Chloe looks over at us and I swiftly pull out of the lot. "I have a reward for you when we get back to my place."
