Viktor had been so kind when I'd gone to him obviously upset. He'd even ended up actually asking me to the ball, thank god.
Ron, on the other hand, had not been so lucky. He had been badly rejected by the gorgeous Fleur Delacour after somewhat screaming an invitation at her, in Ginny's words. However, Ron and Harry did manage to find dates just a couple of days before the Yule Ball and I was honestly glad.
Ginny and I had decided to go last minute dress shopping the day before the big event. Ginny found the most flattering green dress with a pink ribbon wrapping around her waist. I loved it and, more importantly, she loved it. I, however, was much harder to shop for. She had approved of many of the dresses I had tried on but none felt right. They were either too big, too small, the wrong colour, the wrong length, there was always something off. On the way out of the shop, the most gorgeous periwinkle dress caught my eye. It had small, elegant ruffles running down the front of the dress and beautiful chiffon sleeves.
"Ginny, Ginny, look at this."
She turned to look at the dress and gasped.
"Oh my, you have to try that on right now, go!" she giggled.
It was perfect, it was so beautiful and all I could think was 'I wonder what Fred will think'.
At dinner I couldn't help but think of Fred. The jealousy once again rising in me as I imagined him at the ball with Angelina and her perfect smile and hair and body. Of course he would choose her, what boy wouldn't go for her. And on top of everything, she was his age, which evidently gives her all the advantage. Who would go for a girl younger than them when they have the option of someone beautiful and more mature?
