The next week was extremely painful. I'd been trying my hardest to avoid Fred, he's two years older and my best friends brother. I had to distract myself to stop anything else from happening. As well as that, Ron and Harry hadn't spoke once, they would occasionally glare at one another but other than that they made no contact at all no matter how much I tried to reason with them.
'Hey, 'Mione,' Ron approached me at breakfast.
'I need you to tell Harry that Hagrid's looking for him,' he said.
'Why don't you do it yourself?' I asked, not looking up from the book I was reading.
'Because, well, you know,' he said, seemingly uncomfortable.
'Fine, come on, let's go tell him,' I said.
'No, I didn't mean me too,' he said, panicked.
'If you want me to tell him, you're coming with me. I won't make you talk to him but you can't ignore him forever,' I sighed, standing up and gesturing for him to lead the way.
He stood there for a moment, unsure if he was that desperate to get the message to him before he reluctantly led me out of the hall.
When we got to the courtyard, I heard my name name being called and I turned to see who it was.
'Where are you two off to?' smiled Ginny.
'We're trying to find Harry,' I explained, 'have you seen him at all?'
'I saw him go down to the lake about 10 minutes ago. I mean I think. Could have been anyone actually,' she started blushing and I suppressed a laugh at how big her crush on him was.
'Wanna come with us?' I smiled.
'Sure,' she grinned.
He spotted us immediately when we got to the lake and everyone suddenly began to act very awkward.
'What was it?' I whispered to Ron.
'Seamus told me that Parvati told Dean that Hagrid's looking for him,' Ron replied quickly.
'Right...' I said, knowing I'd already forgotten.
I turned from Ron and headed towards Harry.
'Ronald would like me to tell you that Seamus told him that Dean was told by Parvati,' I glanced back at Ron who was nodding in reassurance, 'that Hagrid is looking for you.'
'Is that right?' Harry said, angrily, 'well- what?'
I stuttered for a moment before quickly going to ask Ron what he'd said.
'Seamus told- oh never mind, Hagrid is looking for you,' I sighed.
'Well you can tell Ronald-' he began but I was already worked up enough from the fact that they weren't talking.
'I'm not an owl!' I felt myself blurt out, before walking away with Ginny, feeling rather guilty for snapping at him.
Ron started walking next to me which was one of his worse ideas.
'For goodness sake, Ron, don't act like this isn't partly your fault that I had a go at him. Don't pretend that I'm perfectly happy with you right now. Why did you even need me to tell him that? Hagrid would've found him another time, it's like you're trying to make me feel as uncomfortable as possible,' I stopped walking to wait for his reply.
'No hang on, that was important. Hagrid is showing him the dragons that he's facing in the trial and hopefully how not to aggravate them,' he looked offended that I'd also snapped at him.
'Oh, I didn't know-'
'Just- just don't, Hermione,' he sighed walking away.
'Don't worry, he's a big boy, he'll get over it,' Ginny giggled.
'Yeah, I seriously doubt that,' I laughed.
