Two days later Lane was cleaning out his sister room and putting everything that was hers in the attic. As he was moving her dresser he saw an old balled up piece of paper, he picked it up and unfolded it, it was a old rap him and his sister made when they was little. He mouthed the rap as he smiled. He folded up the paper and put in his pant pockets. He saw more things as well, like the diamond necklace she brought when they went to the Linux Mall for the first time. All this old stuff made Lane have flashbacks. After cleaning up he went outside to sit on the porch. As he sat down his neighbor, Mr. Omar called him over. He went over to Mr. Omar's porch and talked with him for a while. "How you doing young blood?" Mr. Omar asked, "I don't know how I am to be honest.", "Let me tell you a story, Lane." Lane shook his head okay, "Back in my day I was a thug, just like that kid Lucifer. Now the same as he I did some fucked up shit, now one day I sent my little brother out to go do this trade with the crips, but the thing was it was a set up and they shot him right there. I was pissed off with myself, outta all the niggas I had, I chose my brother to go do it...my mama slapped the shit out of me and she left me, she took a plane to Canada and ain't never came back." Lane looked up at Mr. Omar and asked him did he ever try talking to her, "Did you ever try calling her?", "I couldn't, I just couldn't. I still think about both of them to this day. That's why I know how you feel. See Lane, life is like a fairy tale. Bad things happen and good things happen, but no matter how much bad things happen, there's always a happy ending. What I'm trying to say is don't go trying to kill him, because I don't want you to in up in prison like I did." "Okay, I won't, but like I can't get her out my head. When I walk pass her room, I just see her doing Tik Tok or sitting on her bed bopping to Ella Mai.", "I know Lane, but I just don't you to make a big mistake and loose your life up in prison. You still got a life don't mess it up.", "You too Mr. Omar." Mr. Omar shook his head no at Lane in disappointment, "Nah, I ain't got no life, I'm just a 59 year old man, with a horrible retirement life." Lane smiled and shook his head no at Mr. Omar, "Hey, but look, you living right. So you gotta life.", "I guess young blood, but listen hear, you do the best you can to stay alive. Because even though life is kinda of a fairy tale, its not a game. When you die, you can't start over.", "Okay." Lane shook Mr. Omar's hand and walked back inside his house. Mr. Omar was that type of OG who's filled up with lots of wisdom.
