Chapter 1-04 ~Thousand Seniors~

~Twisted Wonderland~

"Think of red, think of red..." Deuce muttered the words to himself as he imagined the colour that he was envisioning. And with great resolve, he aimed his magic pen towards the rose, "THERE!"

The magic stream that went out from his wand was in red colour, something that he was about to cheer if he succeeded. But when the colour that painted the rose turned into something else, he panicked, "AHH!! It turned blue!!"

Meanwhile...

"I'll change all of you into a different colour~! There! " Grim focused his magic before casting it over to the roses. And as soon as his magic stream came in contact with them...

"AHHHH!!! The roses are on fire!!" the small creature shrieked in panic.

"Wow, they suck..." Ace muttered under his breath as he and Himemiya were busy painting the white roses in front of them with red paint while Himemiya just let out a sigh.

"Don't be mean, Ace..."

"Oh wow, those two are really bad at this than I thought~" Cater spoke up in an amusing tone as he watched the scene caused by Deuce and Grim in a lighthearted manner, despite the disastrous state of the roses that they were tending earlier.

'And who was it that insisted that those two will figure it out eventually?,' she thought mentally.

"By the way," Ace spoke up as he cast his gaze towards their senior, "Can't the roses just stay white? They're quite pretty as it is."

Cater just smiled and answered, "No can do. This is all part of the tradition, after all."

Himemiya and Ace just looked at each other quizzically before Cater continues with his explanation.

"The roses for the Unbirthday Party should be red! And it has also been decided that for the croquet match, the bats has to be a seven-coloured, different flamingos while the hedgehogs will be used as the ball," Cater further explained, "But that doesn't mean this rule is applied on other events. For example, the flowers used for the garden concert during spring will be the white roses. This is also a very important point to remember."

"Uh..." Ace was already lost mid-way when the young man was explaining the whole thing.

"That sounds...complicated," Himemiya said hesitantly.

"No matter how you look at it, it's all just weird rules," Grim commented when he and Deuce approached them.

The small creature's comment made Cater laughed and with a big smile, he said, "Now, now, Grim-chan. Even if it sounds weird to you, these are the rules that were decided by the Queen of Hearts from the Great Seven, herself."

Cater's smile softened as he continues, "And Riddle-kun is particularly passionate in following and upholding these rules. Even stricter than the rest of the dorm leaders. Although..." 

Himemiya and the others noticed how the young man's expression changed afterward as he looked away with a troubled look and smile on his face, "I won't deny that he tends to go a bit too overboard with it sometimes..."

"Oh, that's right...!" Ace suddenly perked up, "This isn't the time for me to be standing around doing nothing."
