Prologue 02 ~Break the Solemnity~

~Twisted Wonderland~

Himemiya walked slightly behind Crowley as he led her down the inner hallway of the academy towards the opening ceremony. The hallways were dimly litted by candles hanging on the walls. In fact, all of the decorations in the hallway were a mixture of old and modern castle-themed style and she couldn't help but be in awe by it.

"It's like those classic old castles..." she mumbled under her breath.

"Charming, isn't it? I can assure you that the other new students were as in awe as you," Crowley said, surprising her out of her own thoughts.

"I-I see..."

"I can sense your anxiousness. Could it perhaps because all of these are new sights for you?"

"K-kind of..." she said but deep down, she was actually wondering if everything that was happening right now were real or not. It seemed to be TOO real to be a dream anymore.

Crowley hummed, "I see. I can understand your anxiety. Not only did you ended up to this school being chased by your own rebellious familiar-"

"But he's not my familiar..."

"-To think that you're the first female student our academy had in years, imagine that. The board chairman must have done something without telling me about it."

"Eh?"

Crowley noticed how the young woman had stopped walking and stared at him in surprise, "I mean like I've said, you're the only female student and the first we ever had in this academy. As for this year's new students, I didn't really see any female students other than you."

"..."

"..."

"Ehhhhhh...?" Colours began to disappear from Himemiya's face as panic began to invade and overtook her whole body. Even Crowley began to panic at the sudden change of the young woman's condition.

"Ah!! But, but!! No worries! It's not really all THAT bad. It's just a little bit surprising to see that we would get one single female student instead of all males like we always do!...Especially since Night Raven College is SUPPOSED to be an all-boys school but maybe-" as soon as he muttered those last sentence, Himemiya finally felt as if her brain had stopped working.

An all-boys school? And she's the only female student?

Now that's definitely not right!

"P-Principal Crowley... I think there's a mistake going on here," Himemiya spoke up, "I don't think I'm even supposed to be here."

Crowley remained silent before he bluntly said, "That's impossible."

Stunned by the answer she received, she stared at the man in front of her, quizzically. 

"As I've said earlier, the black carriage that brought you here are especially sent to bring those with exceptional magical talents to our academy. AND, not to mention, those that were chosen by the Mirror of Darkness itself."

Before Himemiya could even retort, Crowley cut her off.

"However, if the current situation still doesn't sit well with you, for the benefit of the doubt, let us quickly go to the Mirror Chamber where the opening ceremony is being held," he continued walking, "The Mirror of Darkness will surely provide you the answers that you seek."
