Prologue 09 ~Encountering Person~

~Twisted Wonderland~

Night Raven College - Main Street

"Whoa~" Grim stared in awe at the huge, wide space of walkway that leads to the academy building. And Himemiya was no different as she looked at the magnificent sight of the castle and everything around them.

"This place looks amazing!" Grim walked around in amazement before stopping right in the middle of the walkway near 7 statues of different figures on the side of the path.

"I didn't get a good look at the place last night but what's up with these statues?" Grim looked at the mentioned sculptures.

"I guess...they're quite famous?" the young woman took a guess as she looked at each of them.

"But they all looked scary though... Especially this auntie right here," Grim said and pointed at one of the statues that had a woman in a big dress and a heart-shaped wand in her hand. One of the most noticeable features of her statue was the roses by her feet.

Himemiya titled her head, "She...looks like someone with high authority?"

"What's this? You don't know the Queen of Hearts?"

Himemiya and Grim turned around to look at who had just spoken to them. When they did, their eyes laid upon a young man with messy, dark orange hair with a heart-shaped stamp by his left eye.

"Queen of...Hearts?" Himemiya tilted her head.

"What? Is she like an important person?" Grim asked.

The young man smiled before looking up at the statue he called the Queen of Hearts, "Back in the old days, she was the queen that lived inside a place called Rose Labyrinth. She is a very strict person who respects discipline, and she won't forgive any disorder among her Trump Soldiers' advance, or even the towards the roses' colour."

"Roses' colour?" Himemiya looked at the young man quizzically.

"Yeah, the Queen of Hearts loves red roses. So any other roses that aren't red are not acceptable," the young man explained.

"Huh, is that so?" Grim crossed his arms.

"That's right. And even though it's a country full of insane and eccentric people, they are all in complete obedience to her," the young man continued.

"Why is that?" Himemiya asked, slightly curious about how this Queen of Hearts was able to do so.

"Why, you ask?" the young man laughed slightly before he faced her.

"That's because..." He leaned closer to her and Himemiya froze on her spot from the sudden closeness as he stopped right in front of her with a playful smile, "...if you are caught breaking the law..." 

His smile turned into a wicked grin as he slid his throat with his thumb, "...you will instantly get beheaded!"

"EEEEEEKKK!!" Both Himemiya and Grim shrieked in surprise when the young man suddenly changed his voice tone and by the answer while the latter laughed satisfyingly.

"Oh, man! That was a good reaction!" he said in between his laugh.

"That's not funny, you know!?" Grim retorted and put his paws to his sides, "To have your head cut off from just breaking a law. It's scary!"
