Day 1 of Lance's Internship in Monterrey: [Lance's POV]
Hrm? Where am I? Waking from my dream, a strong warm feeling pressed against my body. Seated in between Rex and I was Sabrina. Though it was Rex and myself who were snuggling up to her. Our heads trailing the rim of the seat and shoulders locked on to one another. With a trail of drool leaking from the tip of my mouth, I shake the drowsiness from my eyes and look around. Stephine and Fernando were still sleeping and the only one still awake was Sapphire who hadn't moved an inch since we've been seated.
I peeked out the window and found we were entering Monterrey. Entering from Gonzalitos, we entered the city as the sun was still high in the sky. Shaking my arms, I softly woke Sabrina and Rex from their sleep and pointed out of the bus to the city before us.
Sabrina: "Ah~ Have we arrived? Wow~ It's so lovely here."
Rex: "Wow, this is the first time I've left home. This is kind of exciting."
Turning around from her seat, Sapphire cleared her throat before speaking.
Sapphire: "We'll be arriving at the Hero Agency in a few minutes."
Her voice was just enough to wake the others from their slumber. Meanwhile, Rex and I struggled to get Sabrina out of our seat. With a bit of force, we finally managed to get her free right as we arrived. Getting our stuff ready, we got off in front of a large building, nicely maintained and covered with well groomed plants and other items that appeared like gifts.
Fernando: "What do you think all this stuff are?"
Sapphire: "According to the hero forums, Alacranero and his agency are so well respected and beloved that most people around here leave gifts as thanks for their hard work."
Leaning down to check one of the cards, I couldn't help but cringe at what was written. Out of curiosity, the others huddled around me as Sabrina read the card aloud.
Sabrina: "Dear Alacranito, I send these flowers to you as a token of my undying love. I will continue sending tokens of my love as I sleep quietly with my full body pillow of your image, and..."
Stephine: "Wow, can we stop there. Some people are pretty crazy."
Sabrina: "She even sent some toenail clippings and a pair of her own teeth. Do guys like that?"
Guys: "No."
The thought of it made us shudder but with that disturbing thought out of our heads, we seated up to the door and rang the bell. Waiting patiently outside, we kept pressing the bell every so often only to find that no one was answering.
Rex: "Is anybody home?"
Stephine: "Maybe he's out on patrol already?"
Fernando: "What should we do until then?"
[Growling]
Looking down at my stomach, I remembered that I hadn't eaten anything at all today. Due to the nasty wake up call this morning, I couldn't get breakfast and we didn't take any breaks during the trip. I'm starving.
Sabrina: "Might we go and get some lunch? I'm absolutely famished."
Lance: "Me too.... uh."
I was searching for my wallet only to find that I didn't seem to have it on me. Crap, I must've forgotten it back in my room. Looking over to Sabrina and Rex, I couldn't hide the shame in my actions as I continued searching for a wallet that wasn't in my pockets.
Sabrina: "Lance did you leave your wallet behind?"
Rex: "Oh man. I forgot mine as well."
With lowered heads, we sat ourselves down on the sidewalk with growling stomachs. Leaning down to us, Sabrina gave a smile and held out a platinum card.
