Spring: [Lance's POV]

It's been several months of hardships leading up to the Hero exams and tomorrow was our last day of school. As for work, we made our goodbyes and informed them of our position. We've managed to save up enough for the next few months as well as paying our entrance fees. Now all that's left is to take them. Since we had a bit of free time, I was busy training myself using my Magnet-Style fighting while Lexi watched on amazed by how much I've gotten used to this.

Lexi: "Wow... you sure have gotten stronger working construction. Not only that but you've a really cool fighting style as well."

Since it was late spring, it was starting to get hotter and hotter so it was just better to train shirtless. It's not like I could do this kind of training inside the house afterall. Once in a while, I'd make a strike at the thick tree that stood in our backyard and strike it with as much force as I could carry at it.

Lance: "HAAAARAA!"

Everyday I've been making a bit more of a dent in it, but not without repercussions. The force was just too much for my body to handle that I'd injure myself pretty badly.

Lexi: "Overdid it again? Don't worry, I'll fix you right up. ~Sana, sana, sana, sana, no le darles duelitos, sana, sana, sana, sana~"

Mood: Calm

It if weren't for Lexi's Quirk, I'd have broken my body a long ago. When she's calm she induces a healing factor to those who hear her voice. Once the pain was gone, I decided it was time for a break. Sitting down in a chair next to Lexi, she poured some water.

Lexi: "I can't believe it, it's almost time! Are you ready Lance?"

As ready as I'll be. The written exam is my biggest worries. Even after all that studying, I've only managed a 50 from all our practice tests. If I end up scoring that low during the actual, I might not be able to get in.

Lexi: "Lance..."

Out of nowhere, Lexi had her hand on my shoulder and looking at me as though she knew what I was thinking about.

Lexi: "What have I told, time after time? That you were born to be a hero. It's your destiny to become one. So stop worrying. You're going to pass no matter what!"

I wish I was that confident. But... there's something that just doesn't make me fully believe her. The memories of way back then, 10 years ago still haunt me. I couldn't help but put my hand on my heart. As if she knew what I thinking, Lexi grabbed my hand and looked straight into my eyes as she attempted to reassure me.

Lexi: "Listen Lance, that was then. It wasn't your fault and it's cruel for people to put all the pressure onto you. Just shove all that aside and look ahead for what's going to happen. You just got to learn to leave things in the past there, in the past."

I know she's right, but it's kind of hard to leave it there when everyone around me just has to bring it up. Now I'm all tired, I jump into the shower before heading off too sleep.

Last day of middle school:

Lexi: "Wakey, Wakey!"

As the norm, Lexi had awoken me early this morning. I was pretty eager to get today over with and focus more on the entrance exams. Throughout the entire trip, from the house to school, Lexi had barraged me with question after question that were to be shown in the entrance exam later. During the walk up to the school entrance we brushed everyone who had tried to approach us and continued studying till classes finally started. I was pretty surprised, this time I actually managed to get many of the questions right.Later that day during one of our breaks, I had to answer the call of nature and left to the bathroom. Oddly enough, once I did, several of the other guys from my class followed behind me. I didn't really think too much of it as I was more concerned with not pissing myself. After my release, I washed my hands and exited the bathroom.
