[Lexi's POV]
It's been a week since the incident between Diane and Lance. As far as things looked, Lance has been acting a bit too normally compared to that day. He's quieter than usual and using his whiteboard more frequently then ever. As for Diane, she's still sitting next to Lance, but has been less talkative than before.
Today we'll be discussing the events of Family Day here at the school. Stepping into the front of the class was Slipstream. She was gone for a day last week, we asked what she was doing but she actually never answered us and just said it was a personal day.
Slipstream: "Alright everyone. Tomorrow will be Family day on campus. Every teacher is preparing something special for the day."
Asa: "Oh! What're you going to be doing?"
Oren: "Will we be needing to assist somehow?"
Petro: "Can I do stand up in front of the other parents?"
Quito: "I really don't want top do something that'll stand out too much."
Uriel: "This is stupid, why would we have to put something on for our parents?"
Everyone voicing their opinions had annoyed Slipstream to great extremes as she popped out her wheels from her heels and ran them in place. The loud shriek of her tires had silenced everyone allowing her to speak once again.
Slipstream: "In a way, you'll be participating along with your parents. As for what I'll be doing, I'll be putting on a family obstacle race. Nothing too serious or strenuous so that everyone will have fun."
Lexi: "Um, Ma'am, what about those of us who don't have parents to participate with?"
As much as I didn't want to bring it up, I couldn't very well leave it to the last minute. After all, Lance and I don't have any family willing to show up.
Slipstream: "Ah yes, I thought of that. You and Lance are the only ones in the class who don't have any official guardians to speak of. In that class, you'll must likely be pair up with me."
Lexi: "Wah~! Really?! I get to spend a day as Slipstream's daughter?!"
Slipstream: "I wouldn't go that far. It'll only be for the activity that I've planned out. You'll probably be doing the same along with the other teachers. As such, classes are going to be on hold for today as the other teachers get ready for their events. But today, we'll be prepping for the main event."
Sabrina: "What's the main event?"
Slipstream: "It'll the opening event for the start of the day. An Exhibition match between students of each class. As Class 1-A we'll be the first ones going up. As for who'll be participating, I'll leave it up to a class vote."
Slipstream raced around the classroom and handed out ballots to each student. Each student was then supposed to hand in their ballots into a box in the front of the class. It didn't take too long before all the votes were casted. Once the ballots were all turned in, Slipstream took a moment and looked through the votes. The outcome unexpected to say the least.
Slipstream: "Wow, The two who'll be representing us will be Laco Guano and Lance Junes! Do your class proud and put on a good show."
What? People actually voted for Lance? I mean, Laco is one thing, but Lance? Looking over at the two, Laco and Lance both seemed uninterested about the whole thing while everyone else were mumbling among themselves.
School ended soon after, though we were supposed to work today, Lance decided to call off for the day. Man, he's been doing that more often recently. At this rate, we won't have enough to pay the mortgage next month. As much as I wanted to tell him that, I just couldn't help but feel like it'll further the distance between us even more. Taking my things and heading over to the café, I could feel someone was watching me. With a quick overdramatic twirl, I found no one following me. With a sigh, I continued walking until I found Azuro standing right in front me scaring the ever living soul out of me.
