Valentines Day Short: My Valentines

Years ago: Lance's POV

Today was the day of love, Valentines day. However, unlike everyone else, I wasn't very excited about it. After the events that went down when I was a kid, nobody wanted to be near me. Not even the teachers.

Waiting in the center of the room, I watched as everyone exchanged Valentines day cards and candy with one another. Some kids were even expressing their feelings to one another but no one was even bothering to approach me.

Resting my head on the cold surface of my desk, I waited for this day to end.

Lexi: "Lance~ Wakey wakey~"

Lance: "Hrm?"

Standing before my desk, Lexi stood with a smile on her face.

Lexi: "Look Lance, I got so many gifts from everyone in the class."

Lance: [Nod]

Lexi: "What'd you get?"

Nothing. I didn't really feel like answering so instead, I yawned before resting my head back onto the desk.

Lexi: "You didn't get anything?"

Lance: [Shakes head]

Lexi: "... While, here you go~."

Lexi pulled out the biggest piece of candy that she was given and held it out to me.

Lexi: "It's not much, but, will you be my Valentines?"

Taking the big piece of candy into my hand, I stared at it for a good while before snapping in two. At first Lexi was shocked from the act but quickly recovered once she realized what I was aiming for.

Lance: "Only if you'll be mine."

Lexi: "... Of course~"

I held out the other half of the candy to Lexi and she happily accepted. Since that day, we always got one piece of candy for Valentines Day and shared it together even to this day.

Years later:

Lexi: "Lance~!"

Jumping onto my back, Lexi help herself to riding my back as she held out a piece of candy swing her hand right in my face that she practically punched me.

Lance: "Ow."

Lexi: "Oops~ Sorry. Hey, it's that time of the year again~ Will you be my Valentines this year as well?"

Lance: "... Only if you'll be mine."

Lexi: "Haha~ You say that every time. Here, snap it for me will you?"

Snapping the piece of candy in half once again, I handed one half to Lexi and I popped the other half into my mouth.

I don't actually like candy, but this is the only time of the year I will actually bear eating it.
