Home:
It's been three hours since we met Matador and El Toro. Once Lexi finished bragging about just how big of a stalker she was by showing off her figurines and clothes, we went on our way while Matador and El Toro continued helping the police clean up after the villain. But after all that had happened today, I couldn't bring myself to fall asleep. It might have also been because of the cold, the house has seen better days then this. We didn't have a lot of money, so we never left the ac or heater on to save money, and the house didn't have very good insulation. It only provided somewhere for us to sleep, which is all we really needed it to do for us. It was fairly small, two bedrooms, kitchen and a bathroom. Since Lexi's parents died, we've left their room untouched, meanwhile, we've stuck to sleeping in the same room. While Lexi slept in her bed, I slept on the floor, it's much more comfortable in my opinion.
Lexi: "Lance, are you awake?"
Seems like Lexi couldn't sleep either. Her voice whispered over to me from her bed, turning towards her I pretty much answered her question with just that. Seeing me move, she smiled as she curled up in her sheets forming a cocoon.
Lexi: "We were given a recommendation to enter the Hero Academia by Matador and El Toro. They see real potential in us. I'm just so excited that I can't sleep. We'll have to train really hard and master our quirks by the time of the entrance exams. I just know we'll make it, no matter the odds."
It's honestly Lexi's optimism that's her greatest trait. Something about the way she speaks in absolutes and truth that makes it feel believable.
Lance: "Hope has arrived. Because WE are here."
Lexi: "Hehe, took the words right out of my mouth~"
Despite the cheery words, we failed to actually get any sleep that night. Luckily, it was the weekend so it's not like we had to get up really early tomorrow.
(Third-Person POV)
Later that night:
The police transport truck has been enroute to the special Mexico Quirk Maximum Security Prison. Loaded in the back was Rhinoceros who was locked up in special Quirk restraining cuffs. Dazing aimlessly as he sat in the back of the truck, he slowly began drifting off to sleep.
???: "AAAAAAHHHH!!! AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!! NNOOO!!! STTTOOPPP!!"
As if the screaming wasn't bad enough, the car had begun swerving out of control till it crashed into something. Despite the sudden terrible crash, the scream hadn't stopped even slightly.
???: "Damnit, are you crazy?! Why are you still screaming-? What the- AAAAAHHH!!! AAAAHHH OH MY GOD!!!!!!!! STTTOPPPPP!!!!"
From the sounds of it, the screams were coming from the police escorts driving the car. Within a few moments a bunch of curious murmuring could be heard from outside and just like the police officers, they had all begun screaming as terrifyingly as the police. Confused over what was happening, Rhinoceros turned his head over his shoulder.
Rhinoceros: "What the hell is going on?"
It was only for a brief moment, but once he had turned his head around once again, he was startled by the mysterious appearance of a silhouette being directly in front of him. Taking the slightest moments to examine his surroundings, he found it absolutely impossible for this mysterious being to have entered. Not only that, but he was completely unidentifiable.
Rhinoceros: "Whoa-! Who the hell are you?!"
The silhouette of the man had walked up to him with no fear or hesitation whatsoever. Once he was inches away, he leaned in close to him and traced his hand across Rhinocero's face till it reach his chin. Once there he gripped it and forced him to look directly into the darkest points of his eyes.
