Chapter 18: Pupils and Teacher

Day 2 of Internship: (Lance's POV)

Ugh... It's morning... Hrm?

Fernando: "What the hell is going on?!"

Stephanie: "Oh wow~ I never knew just how close you were."

Waking from my slumber, I found myself still straddled in Sabrina's arms as she began slowly waking up. Looking around, she looked on with a bit of innocence in her actions.

Sabrina: "Good morning everyone. Ow, my back really hurts. How can you sleep on the floor all the time?"

Getting up off the ground, I looked in everyone's eyes as they looked as though I had done something scandalous.

Rex: "Sabrina being Sabrina again?"

At least one person understands the situation. Nodding in response, Rex helped Sabrina off the ground. Though I was still getting some suspicious stares from the others.

Stephanie: "Wow, you two must've been pretty quiet last night cus I didn't notice a thing~."

Sapphire: "Last night, Sabrina comforted Lance as he was having trouble sleeping last night. The two only slept together nothing more."

Lance: "Were you awake last night?"

She stared at me for a mere moment before looking away without a response. Women are so confusing.

Fernando: "H-Hey Sabrina, I was having trouble sleeping last night too, want to comfort me as well?"

Sabrina: "That's terrible, I hope it doesn't affect your performance today."

Fernando: "Y-Yeah, I guess." (She didn't even consider doing the same for me.)

Shrugging, I walked out of the room, as I walked to the bathroom, I couldn't help but stare down at my palms. This strange calmness throughout my body was unnerving. I just wanted to feel the same tinge I've always felt. At least that strange sense of paranoia is gone. After using the facilities and getting dressed in my costume, I met up with everyone. Sabrina was telling Rex about what had happened last night and once I had approached, he turned to me with concern on his face.

Rex: "You feeling okay? I noticed you weren't yourself last night."

Lance: "Yeah, just a bad dream is all."

Rex: "That's not good enough. You were having trouble with your quirk all day yesterday. If something is up you should let us know."

Lance: "..."

Sabrina: "Lance, remember, we're your friends, you should try depending on us some times okay?"

Rex: "She's right, I'm not saying to this to hurt you. We just don't want to see you get hurt."

Lance: "... I know. It's just, I don't understand what's going on."

Rex: "Well, we'll help make sure you don't get into trouble out there alright."

They showed such kindness in their eyes that it made me feel a bit better about my situation. We continued on with our internship for the next few days. First thing in the morning, we had to deal with Alacranero's fangirls, then we went on our patrol. We've dealt with all sorts of villains during those days, nothing too noteworthy, just a couple of thieves and arrogant people.

Damn it. Even after three days, my quirk is still not responding to my commands. It's actually feels like I'm losing more and more control over it. Every night Sapphire had informed me of my lack of control. A conversation that has been irritating me the more I hear about it.
