I can't believe it. This can't be happening. It's too much, I can't go on any longer. Is this really really how it'll end for me? I'm sorry, my friends, Lexi. Forgive me. I just can't....
Sabrina: "Lance are you alright?"
Lance: [No more...]
Rex: "Damn we only just started studying ten minutes ago."
After classes, we met up at La Servienta Café to study for the upcoming field trip. What field trip you might be asking well...
Earlier:
Slipstream: "Alright everybody, the last hurdle to pass is coming up."
Slipstream had stood before us just before classes were finished for the day. She handed out some slips of paper that required a lot of information.
Slipstream: "As you're aware, the school allows students to participate in work studies for hero agencies throughout the country. However, due to the current state of crime around these parts, not many agencies are available to handle taking care of students. In fact, you can count the number of agencies that can with just your two hands. You'll be going in groups for safety. Not only that, but you'll also be going along with your brother class, class 1-b."
Looking at the back of the sheet there was a small list of agencies. She wasn't joking , there's only about nine agencies that are listed here and all of them are quite away apart from one another. None are located around here. I don't even recognize some of these either, most sound kind of foreign. Looking over at Lexi and even she was burning holes in the paper with her eyes. She was murmuring under her breath as though she were searching through the database in her head. Out of boredom, I stared around at the other students to see what kind of reactions they were giving regarding this upcoming field trip. Everyone was murmuring quietly amongst themselves till Slipstream cleared her throat signaling her desire to continue.
Slipstream: "Now I know that you must be excited over what you'll be learning, however."
She gave quite an ominous vibe as she loosened her arms and crossed them together on her chest. Her eyes grew heavy and her face was dark filled with a menacing aura that sent shivers to our very cores.
Slipstream: "This might be for your development as heroes, but the world your entering is still unspeakably dangerous. Therefore, this next step, will be to take a regulation of standard procedure test. The world of heroes in Mexico is not a playground, if you can't be mindful of how you present or behave yourselves, you can get killed or get others killed. Students are REQUIRED to take this test before they can proceed with their studies. This is your make it or break it moment, if you fail, you're path to being heroes ends here."
The class grew silent as Slipstream spoke. I couldn't help but take a large gulp in my throat. A test? This one sounds extremely serious too, damn it. Studying is my weakness, It took months just to barely pass the entrance exam and this test is only days away. As my body began to show signs of panic, I could feel Lexi's hand on my shoulder. Her warmth gave me a touch of relief as I looked over to her. Her smile always did make me feel a bit better, looking at her with unflappable belief helped steady my heart.
Slipstream: "Right, be sure to gather here to take a workbook on what will be covered in the test."
Afterwards, Lexi and I had work so Sabrina and Rex tagged along with me. It was a good thing as Sabrina had that photographic memory of hers to help out. Everyone else had gone off on their own for the rest of the day. Once we were at the café, Lexi and I got dressed and attended the small flow of customers that entered. Luckily for us, the café was pretty empty today giving us time to study.
