30 minutes of searching later:
It took us a while but we finally managed to make our way to the doctor's office. Unfortunately, it's not something I'd consider an achievement as the room was only two doors down from our classroom.
Lexi: [Was it really this close?]
I was too ashamed to respond and insisted on simply entering. To our surprise Miss Perdita was already inside waiting along with Doctor Surgeon. Tapping her foot rapidly, she was staring emptily at us as we entered the room.
Ms. Perdita: "And where exactly have you two been? I sent you almost 40 minutes ago!"
Lance: [We got lost]
Shrugging my response very uncaringly aside, she guided Lexi onto a nearby bed. Still wearing that tight mask and eerie small round glasses on his face, Doctor Surgeon opened Lexi's mouth and shone a flashlight into her throat. The action was quick and clearly uncomfortable for Lexi who was unprepared for it. It didn't take him long before releasing her head and moving towards the cabinet over his desk.
Ms. Perdita: "Well? Is she going to be alright?"
Doctor Surgeon: "She has a sore throat."
Obviously. It looks like Lexi had the same reaction but she couldn't voice her opinion and cough instead.
Ms. Perdita: "I know that much already. Can you tell us anything more than that?"
Pulling out a small bottle from inside the cabinet, Doctor Surgeon popped the medicine into his hands and gave them to Lexi.
Doctor: "Take two right now and two in the afternoon. You should be able to speak soon but don't overdo it otherwise it won't heal completely."
Ms. Perdita: "Aren't these just cough drops? Why can't you just use your quirk to fix her right up already?"
Pulling out a clipboard while seating himself down on his chair, he placed it on his lap while scribbling down something rather quickly. I wasn't sure what he was doing, but he seemed rather focused despite all that medical gear covering his face.
Doctor Surgeon: "Two reasons, first off; her condition should try healing on it's own. If I use my quirk to heal her from an injury solely caused by her own quirk, it won't allow her body to adapt and learn from the experience. Should she do it again, and I'm not around, she could end up being in critical condition or worse. Secondly, it'll be vital for the students to learn and understand the risks and consequences of using their quirks and learn the best methods on how to deal with it on their own. However, as you are now. If you were to use this quirk while your still incapable of handling it, you could permanently lose the ability to speak or worse, you could tear your throat beyond repair, killing you."
The silent and hushed tone he used while explaining Lexi's condition gave a deathly serious tone that tensed us all up. Hearing the risks, Lexi couldn't help but let off a loud gulp while holding her throat as though she were choking. Though it didn't seem to bother Ms. Perdita as much as us. Turning around with her same cool, calm, collected posture and placed her hands on her hips.
Ms. Perdita: "Alright, you hear that? Until you've improved your quirk, you're not allowed to use it more than once a month."
Pulling the whiteboard away from me, she wrote quickly and presented it to her.
Lexi: [Understood. I don't want to die.]
After that, though she appeared incredibly annoyed by it, Slipstream guided us back to the classroom. Once again, it was just two doors down the way. Lexi was giving me a look of mild disappointment as we entered the classroom. The classroom was a large lecture hall style in a semi-circle around a large blackboard. The other students were sitting in their seats and chatting amongst themselves, all except for two. The first was Rex, who was sitting beside himself in a corner and the other was the beautiful crimson haired girl with fox ears. Though she seemed a bit hesitant to interact with everyone.
