He finally started shouting at me, his gigantic body towering over mine, I'm an averagely tall 5"8 girl but still, he seemed like he grew a foot when he started having a go at me. Beads of sweat began to drip down his forehead, his arms dropped to the side of his body and his hands curled up into fists, his nostrils flaring in and out with each ragged breath he take.
"That was the most stupid thing I've ever seen anybody do." He grunted at me. I opened my mouth to speak, but he put up a finger and carried on "why the hell were you in the Bayou on a full moon at night!? That was reckless that was dangerous and again stupid of you!"
"What the hell does the full moon have to do with this Benji! There was a wolf and you burned it, with water!" I shrieked back at him
"Y/n, you just got here you have no idea what you stumbled on to, if I didn't get here on time I-you-" he sighed as he trailed off unable to finish his sentence. He walked towards me and placed a hand on each of my shoulders before staring deeply into my eyes.
"I know we just met each other, but I care about you y/n, bad things tend to happen to people in this town... I don't want that happening to you."
I looked up and watched his ebony eyes, I saw the sadness they held, the darkness beyond the surface. These are the eyes of a boy who's been through a lot and survived, I couldn't help it, I hugged him, I held him close and squeezed tightly, no one had ever done something like that for me before and it felt nice to be protected for once, to know someone has my back.
"I'm so sorry Benji..." I mumbled through his shirt. He hushed me and continued stroking my hair softly, I broke away and watched his face, "how did you know I was here?" I whispered.
"I ran into your mom, who thought I was with you," Benji admitted to me.
"Crap." I interjected realising the trouble I was now in with my mum.
"Don't worry I said I was on my way to meet you, then I guessed that you went off to search for you dad so I came here." He replied
"Well thank you." Relief washed over me, a car started to pull up when it stopped in front of us. The driver got out and started to walk towards us masked by the brightness that was his headlights.
"What are you kids doing out here tonight? Don't you know it's dangerous." The strange man warned us as he approached slowly. My heart dropped to the ground when I realised who it was.
Xavier Montgomery.
"Well?" Xavier questioned us, arms across his chest. Benji eyed me carefully as if expecting me to say something. Why wasn't I saying something?, this was exactly the reason why I came out here tonight, this is what I've been searching for my whole life. My dad.
"U-um," I barely managed to choke the words out my nerves were at an all time high right now. Xavier didn't look pleased however, in fact he looked down right pisśed.
He started to walk away from us when I panicked and blurted,
"You're my dad!"
Xavier turned and walked back towards me, he was so close and yet this isn't exactly how I imagined us meeting. He looked exactly like the photo I saw, if you added a few years of course, his crystal blue eyes held a murky green beneath them and his eyebrows were heavy and thick, he also had slight wrinkles creasing around his mouth. Xavier was also a well built male, but there was something else. Other than being absolutely terrifying right now there was a certain kindness about him, I could feel it.
"You kids high or something?" Xavier questioned, I mean I would too, that was probably the worst way to tell a man that you're his long lost child.
