Chapter 9

CHAPTER 9: Cheat

I woke up with Scarlet sleeping on my chest her arm wrapped around me. I smiled as I saw her sleep peacefully. I just gently removed her and rolled her into her sleeping bag before she wakes and says I did it. I chuckled at the thought as I walked out of the room slowly closing the door behind me.

I walked back to my room and began preparing for my morning routine before I stepped out of my room and went for a jog.

"Morning Maria." I hugged her from behind as she cut ingredients. She chuckled

"Get off me you sweaty oaf and get ready before the General comes down."

"Will do."

I playfully pecked her and I walked to my room and entered my shower turning on the hot water. I showered and got out wrapping myself in a towel entering my room. I dressed putting on a white button up shirt and black trousers and shoes. I gave myself a once over in the mirror before walking out to the car. I was told to drop Scarlet's friends home.

I picked the car keys and parked the car infront of the door. They soon came out with their bags and I took them putting them in the back. Denise tried to sit at the front but Tracy pulled her and they both sat in the back. I shut the boot and entered the driving seat.

"Buckle up ladies."

I started the car and pulled from the front and drove out the gates. We were approaching Tracy's house when she spoke up.

"Uhm... Xavier right," she looked at me for confirmation before continuing "Please take care of her."

"She can take care of herself." I reply.

Tracy sighs before continuing."She thinks she can but that thing with Brian did a number on her."

I felt as if the temperature in the car had dropped. "I'll be there, Miss Tracy."

"You don't need to call me that. It's just Tracy."

I parked infront of her house and she got out. I also got out and opened the boot getting her stuff.

I entered the car and dropped Denise at her house. "Any advice for me?"

"Yes don't break her." She pecked me and walked out her things already by her side. She walked into her house and I lay my head on the head rest when my phone rang.

I picked it up.

"Hello."

"Hey babe wanna come over?"

It was Vanessa. I pinched the bridge of my nose. "Sorry I'm working."

"What is your work anyway?"

"Bodyguard. It's a 24 hour job."

"Can't you take off just like say half an hour and come over?"

"I'll be there maybe tonight when she's with her parents."

"Then I'll prepare for you. Wait you didn't tell me you are protecting a she! How old is she? Is she prettier than me?"

"Relax, she barely looks at me."

"Okay fine. I'll see you tonight."

"Yeah."

I hang up and put the phone in my pocket before driving back to the house. I parked the car and entered the house. I found her in the living room in a pair of sweat pants and the shirt I gave her Friday night. Her hair was tied in a messy ponytail and some strands of hair hang loosely on her face.

"What you watching princess?"

"As if you'd want to know."

"I do."

"I'm watching Legacies."

"That series bout a tri-brid girl."

"You make it sound boring."

"Maybe it is."

"You just haven't watched it."

"Are you inviting me to watch it?" I teased

"Don't get any weird ideas Xavier."

I raised my hand in surrender "I won't."

She scooted over creating space on the sofa for me to sit. After bringing me up to speed, we resumed the show.

"Can you get us more popcorn?"

"Sure," I said getting the bowl and walking to the kitchen. I microwaved the popcorn and put it in the bowl.

"Hurry up." she called from the living room.

"Coming."

I got the ready bowl of popcorn and walked back to the living room. "Here." I said putting the popcorn between us.

Just then a kissing scene began and I felt the air instantly tense up. She let the scene play out before speaking.

"I needed ask you about the kiss." She looked at me before continuing "Why'd you do it?"

"Because you wouldn't stop talking."

She crossed her arms over her chest saying something like man-whore under her breath. I put my finger under her chin and gently turned her to look at me. My eyes fell on her lips and she bit her lower one.

"Seemed you liked it." I teased

"I didn't." She said turning away and standing up. I followed her action.

"Maybe anyway I need to go handle some issues."

"When will you be back?"

"Probably late, princess. I'll take my leave."

I walked out of the living room and went to my own room changing into a casual black shirt and jeans before walking out. I got a mercedes and drove to Miguel's bar. The music was on and the party had started. I entered passing by the bouncer. Miguel as always was behind the counter wiping glasses.

"Hey Miguel. How's business?"

"As you can see it's booming. Do want a drink?"

"Nah I'm trying to stay sober. Have you seen Vanessa?"

"Yeah saw her a while back. She went upstairs."

"Thanks I'll go see here."

"Just don't break the poor bed."

I chuckled as I stepped off the stool and walked towards the stairs. I walked towards her room and paused when I heard moaning coming from the other end. I walked up to the door and paused for a minute before entering.

Vanessa was on top of some guy both nude as she bounced up and down moaning in pleasure. They didn't seem to notice me and I clenched my fist.

"Vanessa!"

She turned and her face held shock and she hurriedly covered herself in her sheets.

"Xavier," she said in shock removing some loose strands from her hair the guy wrapped in the sheets next to her.

"Who is he babe?" He said wrapping his arm around her and kissed her forehead.

"Who are you?" I asked the guy.

"I am her boyfriend for 2 years now."

I looked at her in shock before clenching the door knob until my knuckles turned white.

"Xavier." I looked a way from her.

"Have a nice life." I said slamming the door behind me.

Might as well take up Miguel on his offer. With that I sat at one of the bar stools and ordered Miguel to give me something strong.
