"I'm a boring person." Ji Ae stated, her azure eyes boring into the bottom of her empty mug, waiting for the caffeine to kick in.

"Why would you say that, Ji?" her dad questioned in his eternal calm tone as his fingers twirled his crimson tie around his collar in neat, versatile movements.

"I don't know, I'm just a regular girl, nothing's special about me." A pout builds upon her face as she scrutinized her reflection on the glass table.

"Oh my dear, you're not even a mortal," Jaehyun muttered in between his coughs, anxiously glancing at his daughter.

"What?"

"You're not boring at all, Ji, you're special in your own way, don't let anyone convince you otherwise." He said as he flickered the forehead of the half goddess gently, at which she feignedly winced.

"I'm not convinced." She intertwined her fingers, eyes narrowed as she suspiciously looked at the clock. "Isn't it a little too early for you to go to the hospital?"

"Ah, my daughter is very insightful, I'm seeing," he laughed off, awkwardness covering his tone. "They called me saying they needed me for something rather important."

"Dad, today is your day off..."

"Shouldn't you be on your way too? Goodbye, Jung Ji Ae." He stammered, sprinting his way out, leaving the young goddess with an ajar mouth and plenty of questions.

"Something's fishy."
