The old clock ticked three times, indicating it was past three a.m.

Slumber raided every house in the city of Seoul, ensuring all individuals roamed in the constraints of unconsciousness and dreamland, yet it somehow spared one specific half-goddess.

Cocooned in the confinements of her thin blanket as the air conditioner blew fresh gusts at her, she scrolled down her feed with conspicuous irritation.

"I can't sleep." She groaned in a low tone, throwing her phone across the room.

Her ocean gaze trailed on the moon that perched high in the sky in all its glory, twinkling in arrogance amongst the stars, and she could almost feel it mocking her.

"I wonder if War is awake," she thought, running a hand through her blonde threads. "I might as well go check."

With that said, she grabbed her shoes and stormed out of the house, not bothering to change from her sun-patterned PJs.

The urge to see the boy with honey skin consumed her as her legs walked through the so-familiar area, heart thumping with every step taken.

A pleasant type of anxiety tickled her stomach, and she didn't like the fact that she liked it, the whole feeling being unfamiliar to her.

The boy in question sat against a post, immobility paralyzing his body and eyelids shut, which led Ji Ae to the conclusion that he was asleep.

The lamp that hung above his head illuminated his features, thin rays of gold pouring on every inch of his face like a celestial rainfall.

"At least one of us can sleep." She smiled, sliding against the wall in slow motion in fear of waking him up.

She scrutinized the boy's traits almost religiously, from his high reddened cheekbones to his eternally sulking adorable lips. Every little detail dazed her, and she regretted not noticing how unique his profile was before.

With a shaky movement, she reached out her hand, and her index soon found its comfort on his bronzed skin.

She traced the outline of his face with a compassionate delicateness, cheeks florid from all the blushing that she suffered from since her arrival.

A wave of reluctance strolled down her spine and she shivered as she felt the emotion being physically manifesting itself through her body, and then it dawned on her. Was she really touching an unconscious person's face right now?

Her finger, opposed to all her other senses, decided stopping wasn't an option as it traveled further into the bruised yet splendid surface.

Brushing his lips and grazing over his cheeks, she mentally chuckled at the thought that she almost could feel honey dripping from her fingertips. Just then, she noticed that his lips have curved into a smirk.

"Do you like it so far?"
