The air grew heavier around them as the young man strode his way through the sleeping city, Ji-Ae fast asleep on his back.
He sported his signature nonchalant expression, eyes raked over the Navy-blue sky that hung above his head, thoughtful.
"Why is it so hot out of a sudden?" The girl vaguely mumbled, throwing her head back in an attempt to get some fresh air on her overheating cheeks.
"I guess there are many underground people out here tonight." He shrugged, lips stretching into a miffed fake smile as the image of someone he wasn't exactly fond of crossed his mind.
"Hm?"
"The underground people are... the people who live in the underground." He scoffed, sarcasm prominent in his tone.
"Very informative, indeed." Ji-Ae deadpanned at his remark, before succumbing back to slumber.
"Is this your house?" He questioned, halting as he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket, signaling they had just now reached their destination.
"Yes." She yawned, throwing in a quick glance before dozing off again.
J. Suh property.
In a reluctant movement, his finger pressed the doorbell, and he stood by, waiting, nervousness building up inside him, but he wasn't quite sure why he was even reacting this way.
"Ji-Ae?" a young-looking man opened the door, eyes half-open and a raspy sleepy voice underlined his words.
His face immediately brimmed with concern at the sight of his best friend's daughter, barely conscious.
"He looks too young to be a father." Donghyuck mentally judged.
"Thank you so much for bringing her home, goodnight." The man bowed, swiftly grabbing the Half-goddess and leading her inside, leaving the young man an ajar mouth and plenty of unanswered questions.
"Look who we have here."
