LUYOLO MAYIZA

I am coming from a deep sleep but, how is it that, I am still tired. Fuck! This sharp pain is killing me. I am not very fond of hospitals and me feeling weak right now isn't helping. I feel drenched and cumbered since I can't help myself up. The doctor strictly instructed that, I lay on my back until, the twenty four hours of my operation passes, then that is when I can sit up right or change sleeping positions.

I can't do this anymore, I am tired and I need to stretch my legs in fact, I want to get the hell out of this place.

I can't help but, ruminate about the recent events. I just got married, I am supposed to be somewhere across-the-board with my wife on our honeymoon sipping on champagne, or even making love on the beach, sorry I can't help but, to imagine Enhle and I having sex. I swear if I wasn't shot or anything, I would have been hitting is up all day today.

Okay, I need to stop right there because, the big guy down there is getting excited.

Anyway, I wonder how she is, I cannot stop thinking about her. The big guy upstairs, couldn't he at least save me from the bullet, just until, I have settled with my wife because, I feel terrible that, I am here and she is there and, I am not there to protect her. I hope that, no one is mistreating her, especially Makazi.

Whilst I am still contemplating, the door swings open, I look to the direction and my brother walks in, followed by my little sister and the door shuts. Where is my wife? I look at them grabbing chairs and sit beside my bed. They have this smile on their faces like, they can't believe what they are seeing. I keep my face solemnly.
Why did they leave my wife behind?

Lubabalo:"It is good to see that you are awake, how are you?" I am in a fucking hospital!!! But I will keep myself pacified.
Luyolo:"Just sharp pains, but nothing a painkiller can't handle."
Nokuzola:"You looking quite unhandsome. Ntombi won't even recognise you." She has a grin on her face. I chuckle softly.
Luyolo:"If I wasn't in pain, I would have got up to where you are and smack you."
Nokuzola:"I am so going to enjoy teasing you. It is quite fun seeing you feeble."
Luyolo:"You seem to forget that, this is only temporary and for your information, I am not disabled. You will swallow your words when I get out of here." I grinned at her.
Lubabalo:"In the meantime, Lindokuhle will deal with you baby sis." We all laugh. Speaking of Lindokuhle.

Luyolo:"How is he?" They look at each other. This is not good.
Lubabalo:"Uhm... He is fine."
Luyolo:"You don't look confident about your answer."
Lubabalo:"We left Yoniswa at home. She arrived this morning just after breakfast. Makazi or Promise must have told her about the shooting." I don't understand, why is she there for?
Luyolo:"What?"
Nokuzola:"She says you are the father of her child, she has every right to be there for Lindo." What in the hell? My wife and my family are there. This woman will is becoming a problem.
Luyolo:"Enhle? How is she?"
Lubabalo:"She is well. We left her outside. She was in a call with her family but, she will be here anytime..." Just then, she walks in, wearing her Xhosa dress looking very beautiful. She is carrying my sports bag, probably with my things inside. Very thoughtful of her. She reaches my side of the bed and he looks at me with a smile on her face. What's with the smiles? I also paste my smile on her eyes.

Enhle:"I don't need to ask how you are doing and because I can see that, you are much better than last night."
Lubabalo:"You have an effect on him. He hardly smiled ever since we got here."
Luyolo:"How do you smile when they mock you? I am glad that you are here my Mrs me." She chuckles.
Nokuzola:"Wow. Bhuti (brother) let's go and get food because our presence is unappreciated." Now, I appreciate them leaving me and my wife giving us privacy. They left the room.
