Finn's POV:
I was just minding my own business. I was working at the moment, and the shop was pretty full, because it was 11 and a lot of people surprisingly start their work at that hour.
I was making some coffee for myself, because I didn't have one earlier due to the full shop, when Millie came in crying her eyes out. I was really worried.
"Millie! Omg, what happened? Are you ok?" I asked her, jumping in front of the counter to take her into my embrace.
"No, I was just minding my own business, getting ready to come see you, and then I got a text. It was from my dad. He told me that my brother had a heart attack and he passed away" she said, between sobs.
"Omg, Millie, I'm so sorry! Shhh, it's fine, you can cry. Come on, let's go to the back to sit down and try to calm down, okay?" I asked her, trying to stay as calm as possible for her.
She just nodded, continuing to cry her heart out. The tears were pouring down like a river. We went to the back of the shop where I usually go on my breaks, and I told her to sit down. I went to pour some water in a glass to give her, not knowing what will actually calm her down.
"Maybe, you should try to call one of your siblings or your mother?" I suggested, thinking of what would give her something to hold onto.
"Yeah, you're right. I'll call my mom. Oh, she must be devastated. But I still don't get why my dad texted me this? What happened to everyone else?" she asked, still crying a little bit. I just shrugged in response, not actually knowing what to say to her.
She waited a little bit more, to be completely calm for her mom, and then she called.
"Hi mom! I heard what happened with Charlie!" she said, trying very hard to keep the crying in until the call ended.
"What are you talking about? What happened? I haven't seen Charlie in so long!" her mom said.
"You actually don't know? Mom, I'm so sorry, but he had a heart attack." She said, still in shock her own mother didn't know about what happened to her brother.
"Oh my lord, please tell me he's okay!" her mom said, starting to cry.
"I'm so sorry mom, but he passed away" Millie told her mom the devastating news, which was the last thing she wanted to do.
I only heard her mom starting sobbing and screaming. I think she dropped her phone, too.
"I got a message from dad a few hours ago saying this." Millie told her mother, who calmed down a little bit.
"I'll call him right away. Please come home as soon as you can!" her mom said, before hanging up without even saying anything else.
"I have to go home. Will you come with me?" Millie asked me, wiping her tears away.
"Of course, you should ask Sadie, too, because she's the better one for moral support and everything, only if you want to, because I can adjust to that if you want, I can do anything you want, please just tell me!" I told her.
She just smiled, the first smile I got out of her that day. Although it was a sad one, I just took it, because I knew that in the future, I won't those so often. "Thank you, and of course I'll ask Sadie, too, I knew you couldn't handle me all by yourself. But seriously, thank you!" she said, hugging me tightly.
"I'm here for you! Now let's go to the bathroom to clean your face a little bit." I suggested, standing up and taking her hand, leading her to the staff bathroom.
After we cleaned the mascara stains from her face and her face was a little closer to normal, although it was a little red and puffy, it was definitely better. We walked into the shop, and I gave her a muffin. She devoured it, because she obviously didn't have the time to eat that morning.
Then, her phone started ringing and she picked it up. It was her mom.
"So, I talked to your father, and he told me what happened. You know his heart wasn't so strong, and he just found out his wife was pregnant." She told Millie.
She just gasped, and then started crying again. "Oh no, Katie must be devastated. Have you talked to her?" she asked her mom.
"No, I was planning on calling her after our call. And I haven't seen Charlie in a long time because your father reached out to him and suggested that he should move to Canada with him in a quieter place with his wife. He accepted."
"Oh, now I understand everything. Well, when will his funeral be? I planned with Finn that us and Sadie should fly to LA and then we'll all go to dad's." she told her mom.
"Wait a minute, who's this Finn you're talking about?" she asked, very confused.
"He's a friend, well not really, kind of, it's a long story and the least important thing right now, so is our plan okay with you?" she asked.
"Yes, it sounds good. I should go call Katie! Bye sweetie, please take care of yourself and come as soon as possible. I love you!" her mom said.
"Yes. Love you too, mom! See you soon!" Millie said, and after hanging up.
"So do you want to talk about everything until you can call Sadie?" I suggested, knowing that talking is the best way of letting all the sadness and everything go.
"I just feel broken. I loved my brother so much, he was my favorite. He was there for me when dad left and I can't believe I won't ever talk to him again. I don't know why all these bad things all have to happen to me. I just don't think it's fair. I know everyone has to die at some point, but why now? It's just, I don't know, I'm making no sense" she said.
"I won't say that I get it, because I don't, it's just important to get all these bad things out. We can go somewhere and do something that will make you feel so much better. Come on!" I said, taking her hand and took her to the roof.
She smiled when we got there, and I just positioned her in front of me.
"Ok, so I want you to scream from the top of your lungs, don't care about anyone, just scream your heart out. You can cry, do whatever you want, but scream!" I said, and without hesitation, she turned and just screamed very loudly.
After she started crying, too, and I went behind her to hug her and hold, because she seemed weak from all the crying and screaming, because it is exhausting.
Then, we fell to the ground, me holding her tightly, and her continuing to sob in my shoulder. I just stroked her hair and shushed at her in a calm voice.
I kissed her temples, and she fell asleep for some time in my arms. I was really worried about her, but as long I was there, I would make sure she was okay. No matter what happens, I will always be there for her.
After that, I had to wake her up because I had to go work and she needed to call Sadie. So we did that.
I saw her crying again when she talked to Sadie, and after ten minutes, she came to the shop. I led the way to the back and she immediately gave Millie the biggest hug. Until they were finished, I decided to talk to my boss about going for a week. She was okay with it, thank god, and then I told the girls. They decided to go home and prepare the stuff for the trip, and I returned to my work, because I had some more time until my shift was over, but I couldn't concentrate to anything I was doing, I was just worrying about Millie's state. She must have been really broken, Charlie was the closest thing to a male figure she had, and he helped so much, I couldn't think how I would feel if Nick died. But I knew I was there for her, and that thought helped me a little bit.
We'll see how it all goes, I guess.
A/N Hi guys! I'm sorry if I broke anyone, I really didn't mean to, but I had to have a plot point somewhere, because it was getting boring and I couldn't just say her dad wanted to meet, because that would be again, too boring, so yeah! I'm sorry I killed Charlie. But the good part is that this will make Millie and Finn get even closer! Ok, thank you so much for reading this! I'm sorry I uploaded so late, but I had to learn a freaking poem in French because I'm in a theater club and we speak in French and do French plays, and all that stuff, and I had to learn it, and I had a tummy ache, but I'm fine now! SO yeah, i hope you like this! Thank you again for reading and I love you so much! xx
