Millie's POV:

"Is everything ready?" I asked my mom, checking to see if everyone was packed and ready to go.

"Yes, I have everything I need. We still need to tell Ava the whole situation, because she needs to know before we get on that plane. Want to come and help me do it?" she asked, the tears threatening to fall already.

"Of course! We are in this together!" I said, wiping one of the tears.

We made our way to my little sister's room. I was getting nervous and very sad. I couldn't stand her crying and suffering, but we had to tell her.

"Ava, sweetie, we have to tell you something." Mom said, opening the door to an excited Ava. She was happy because she thought this was just a simple trip. I felt my eyes getting glossy.

"So, you know that we are going on a trip to Canada, now. Well, we didn't want to tell you until now, because we didn't want to see you suffer, but the truth is, that-" she couldn't finish the sentence, because the sobbing started. I just caressed her shoulder in a loving and sympathetic was. She couldn't get the words out of her mouth, so I decided I'll rip the band-aid.

"Ava, what mom wanted to say is that we are going to Canada for Charlie's funeral. He had a heart attack yesterday and he passed away." I told Ava, and she was in shock. She immediately started crying after realizing what actually was happening. She went to mom and gave her the biggest hug. Well, we are over with this, but it just felt worse. I couldn't endure her pain, her usually being the biggest goof and making everyone smile by being her energetic self, now was broken. She loved Charlie as much as I did, and they had so many things just for them. They had a secret handshake, they had their inside jokes, Charlie was always the nicest out of all of us to Ava, always playing with her, explaining so many things that she didn't understand, tickling her when she was sad, and all of that stuff. They were very attached, and it breaks my heart to see her this devastated. After hugging my mom, she came to me. We both cried together.

"I'm here Ava, everything is going to be okay! I will protect you and I will love you and tickle you just like Charlie used to. Now, we'll go say our goodbyes and be there for each other and for Katie, because she is having a baby right now! And when that baby is going to be born, we'll see a piece of Charlie in it! And even though he isn't with us here on the planet, he'll always will be right here with us in our hearts, helping it beat and with every beat, you'll feel Charlie!" I told her, making her nod, but still not stop crying.

After finishing everything, we left to the airport. On the way there, I told Finn about telling Ava everything. He held me close, my head on his chest, and whispered sweet words to me.

When we got to the airport, we did the usual things, and after 2 hours of waiting, we finally left LA and flew away. I couldn't sit next to Finn, because mom and Ava asked me to sit with them, but he wasn't far and we shared some looks, him making me laugh a little bit through the pain of it all.

I slept, I played with Ava, I told her about how college was and the professors and everything. I told her about Mary and Maddie, Lilia, who she didn't remember because she was just a baby, and Iris, too. She asked me about Finn, because she told me Sadie didn't tell her, although she promised, and I just laughed and told her Finn and I's famous story. She was so happy and shocked and every possible emotion mixed together. She was a lot to handle, but I loved her so much, and I got used to her unique personality. And she was the cutest human alive, so that helped a lot!

After spilling the tea about the everyone, she fell asleep, and I had to go to the bathroom. Luckily, mom wasn't asleep, so she let me go. On the way, I saw Sadie and Finn were asleep, too, and I thought about the perfect thing to do for them. When I got back, they were awake and enjoying some pretzels which I bought before going to the bathroom.
