17. Birthday surprise

Millie's POV:

I was in Finn's room. I knew that. I felt the sheets beneath me crumble to my touch. The smell was very specific, a smell of vanilla pancakes and strawberries. When i opened my eyes, the sunlight hit my eyes, making them squint. It took some time to accommodate to it, but slowly, they did. I looked beside me, and the bed was empty. It made me frown for a second, but then the door flew open.

"Good morning beautiful!" Finn said to me with a smile on his face. His voice was still a little raspy, and his curls were very messy. I liked it.

"Good morning to you, too! When did you wake up? It's only 8?" i asked him, because it was still too early for us. We didn't have any classes in that morning, so that was weird, too.

"Not so long ago. I was getting hot in the sheets and i couldn't sleep anymore, so i just got out and did my morning routine, made some breakfast, all that stuff. How did you sleep?" he asked me.

"I slept really well, actually! You are very comfortable!" i said, leaning in to kiss him.

He kissed me back, but then we flew apart when the door opened again widely.

"Hey, lovebirds, the food is getting cold, so you better come eat it. You can suck face after!" Caleb told us, making me roll my eyes and laugh a little at the last part.

"Come on, we don't want to piss off Caleb, right?" Finn told me with a smirk, standing up from the bed.

"No, of course not!" i said in a sarcastic tone, and then we laughed together.

We both made our way to the kitchen, and there was waiting for us exactly what i thought i smelled earlier. Pancakes with strawberry and some fresh coffee.

I sat down at the table and started devouring the food, because i was VERY hungry. Finn smiled at me, and it made me blush lightly. I couldn't believe how we've been dating for some time now, and he still makes me feel like a teenager in love, all blushing and having butterflies.

After we ate our food, we went back to his room. We kissed some more, and then it was time to go to school. I went back to my dorm, and there Sadie was waiting for an explanation for why I didn't come home that night.

"Ok, so, it was absolutely magical! We first went to the restaurant, it was actually how I imagined it would be, very romantic and just amazing. I ate some pasta, and it was SO good! We drank wine, we talked and we just had the best time. After that, you know i told you i made something special for him? So, i prepared like a little tent in the library, and i talked to the librarian to take care of it until we would get back, i set a laptop there and i made a little video with pictures of us, and then at the end, i said that i loved him" i told her

She gasped and told me: "OMG!!!!! Girl, i can't believe it! Why haven't you told me anything before? I didn't even know you were that far! I'm so happy for you!!!" she said happily, and jumped up to embrace me.

We laughed about what happened next and this morning, and then she waited until i got ready and went together to our classes.

I had French grammar, which was the class i hated the most, but i still had to take it, because i sucked at grammar. I just didn't see a point in it, I would happily take some more literature ones and i just loved French poetry. I thought it was just so much more romantic and had more emotion than other types of poetry, and it just makes so much more sense to me.

I couldn't listen to the teacher again, because Finn was on my mind again. I swear that boy never left, but don't get me wrong, I loved it! I kept thinking how happy he was after the presentation I did for him in the previous night, and I felt just extremely happy that we felt the same we were there for each other.

He was literally an angel coming from heaven for me, trying to save me from my misery, and I couldn't thank him enough. He truly understood me, the pain I have been through, and I wish I could do the same for him. I guess I'll just love him and that will be enough.

Unfortunately, I had to refocus on the lesson, although I dreaded the fact that I had to learn that BS, I had to be patient and study so I can pursue my dream job. New York was a city full of opportunities, but first, I had to study hard so I can get them! I wanted to be a French teacher so bad, and I knew that I had to do all types of stuff, not only what I liked for now, in order to end up loving with all my heart what I do!

Besides wanting to stay and of course, finish my studies, I also wanted to get away, to run away to Paris with my Finnie and just figure things out there, live in a small apartment with a cat, buy croissants every morning, go for long walks around the parks, admire the Eiffel Tower at night, and just be in love and happy together. I knew that would be impossible, but I guess a girl can dream.

The class was finally over, and I made my way to the dorm. In my room was absolutely everyone, Sadie, Finn, Mary, Caleb, Noah, Maddie, Iris, Lilia and Gaten. They suddenly jumped up from nowhere and screamed: "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!". Then it hit me. Today I was so caught up in my own bubble, with Finn and class that forgot it was my 19th birthday. The room was pretty small and it was filled with colorful balloons.

"I can't believe I forgot it was my birthday today! Thank you guys! I love you all so much" I said, before opening my arms and taking them all in a big embrace.

"I was a little confused this morning, because you were always very excited about your birthday and you would count the days and everything, and this year, you didn't say anything! I was really freaked out!" Sadie said, laughing a little.

"I was just too caught up with everything, and this year has been pretty hard and just a lot, and I guess I forgot! But thanks for reminding me in the best way possible!" I said, smiling sweetly at everyone.

Then each of them came to me and congratulated me individually, and then we celebrated a little bit. We decided to go to our restaurant, which was the pizza place we went to in the beginning of the year.

We had so much fun, we laughed, we ate the best pizza, we drank some good wine, and we popped some champagne, too. It was absolutely wonderful. I loved it. I loved everyone.

"So, I heard you did some pretty cheesy stuff last night Millie! I didn't believe you were like that!" Gaten said.

"So like Finn? Apparently, they're the same annoying way!" Mary told us, making us laugh hardly.

"Yeah, well, I wanted to show him I loved him so much and he did so much for me these past few weeks, and I am so thankful that I have him in my life!" I said, making everyone say: "Awwww"

We laughed, and then Finn added: " It's the same here! Since I first sat on your seat on the plane, and then you hugged me awkwardly because I started sobbing I knew we were meant to be! And the world just saw how good we fitted together and paired us up. It was such a coincidence, and that proves how simple love is!", and I added: "As simple as it can be!"

We kissed, and everyone fake puked, and we all laughed again. I was so happy! I felt like I found my people, my family, and I couldn't let them go!

After we paid, we got back to the dorm, and I was holding Finn's hand. He smiled at me sweetly, and kissed my cheek. I blushed slightly, and I heard him chuckle a little. Then he suddenly stopped. I saw he was breathing heavily. I was so scared. He put his hand on his chest, and fell to the ground.

"Finn, what's wrong? Hey, listen to me, what is wrong?" I told him with worry.

"It hurts, really bad!" he said between heavy breathes, and then he started screaming.

"Hey, guys, call 911, I don't know what's wrong with Finn. Hurry! Okay, love, I'm here, everything is fine, just stay with me, okay?" I told him, and I saw how he slowly closed his eyes.

"No, no, no, stay with me, Finn, stay with me, come on!" and then he closed his eyes completely.

A/N Hey guys! So, smth is definitely wrong with our Finnie. I'm sorry, I had to! I'm sorry I haven't updated, I was just very busy because I'm at my grandma's for the summer, and my parents came home in the weekend, so i spent some time with them! I hope you liked the chapter, I guess it is kinda sad at the end, and you will be worried until I update again, and I'm sorry, but I don't care hahahahahaha.
