Mary's POV:
I was walking down the street, hand in hand with Iris. She was smiling sweetly at me, and I felt like the whole world was smiling. I was so happy in that moment, but I certainly did not expect what was going to happen just moments later.
I heard crying and Millie's voice from behind, and I quickly turned my gaze to that direction. In that moment, all of the actions just slowed down, and I felt tears forming in my eyes. Running to Finn, I wiped them. He was on the ground, with his hand on his heart, and his eyes closed. That was actually the scariest thing I had seen in my life. I saw my best friend on the ground, unconscious. I fell on my knees and started shaking his shoulder, but not a single reaction was present. I thought: that was it, my best friend was dead, I will never be the same, I'll never talk to him again, never laugh with him, never make fun of him, never get to see him at the altar, never get to see his eyes full of tears when he saw his kids for the first time, never get to make fun of him being over protective with his daughter and not letting her go on the freaking date, never get to grow old with him and laugh together till death took us, but then, out of nowhere, hope came back on a ray of sunshine. His eyes flustered open for just a second, and when I checked his pulse, it was there, still making him stay alive.
The breath I was holding back all this time finally made its way to the surface, and a wave of calmness hit me like it was the only thing I needed. All of those things I thought were again likely to happen, the fact that he was still alive brought so much happiness and I could breathe again.
After that, only minutes away, the ambulance was heard, and he was rushed into it. Me and Millie went into it with Finn, and we made our way to the hospital. I saw Millie's face, and she was as worried as me. I saw true sadness and fear. She was holding onto Finn's hand very tightly, like she was trying to tell Finn to keep hanging there, not to leave her. I knew he was there for her so much, and without, she wouldn't be okay now. I saw actual love in her eyes, and that broke my heart. I just caressed her shoulder in a sympathetic was to kind of tell her that he was going to be okay.
I saw Finn connected to some tubes, and that imagine made my soul sour, but knowing that those machines kept him in a state where he was breathing and alive, I was thankful. I knew Finn was safe with them, although anything could happen, that couldn't be Finn's end. He has so much more to explore, and to do, and to be in love, and to marry the love of his life, and to have kids, and to cry, and to laugh, and to admire his kids playing in the backyard with the dog, and to teach them how to play guitar, and how to make the best coffee tasted by the human species, and to watch them grow and have their own families, and to live happily for once, because his life was filled with misery until Millie came into his life, and only a month of happiness isn't enough for such a good soul like his.
When we finally arrived to the hospital, they rushed Finn into a room, and they said they were going to have to do a surgery, because he had a heart attack. Some stupid shit didn't connect, I didn't quite understand, because I was too worried for my friend to listen to the stuff the doctors were saying, so I let them take care, and I took Millie and we went to the waiting area.
"Look, Finn is going to be okay, I know this was unexpected, but Finn's heart is stronger than you think. He has been through so much, you can't imagine what he can take!" I told Millie, seeing how scared she looked.
"How can you know that? What if something bad happens in the surgery, I can't lose him, Mary, I just can't. I should've been more careful, I put him through too much, he did something similar one time, and he said it wasn't anything, maybe it all started there, and I put too much pressure on him by making him take care of me, this is all my fault" she told me, crying loudly.
"Don't you dare say something like that! It is not your fault, and you shouldn't ever think like that. The only thing that you did was probably loving him too much and making him love you even more, which was just too much love for his small heart" I told her, making her chuckle.
"I know we haven't known each other for too much time, but I can't express how much I love him, he is the sweetest person I have ever met, with the kindest heart, and a loving soul. He brings happiness into my sad life, and I just think I didn't thank him enough. He is the best thing that could happen to me, and you can't imagine how grateful I am to have him in my life. I want to wake up next to him every morning, to kiss him in every second of the day, to spend all my life loving him, and I just can't lose him, not when we just started, not when life finally made sense" she told me, and I just hugged her and we cried together for some more time.
I felt how her breathing evened out and I knew she fell asleep. I knew she was probably exhausted. Then, the others came to the hospital, and asked me what happened to Finn, and I told them. I let Sadie take care of Millie, and I just went outside to take some fresh air.
Millie's POV:
I opened my eyes, and Sadie was next to me, I was in her arms more specifically. The uncomfortable hospital chair was making me wake up. I didn't want to open my eyes just yet. Everything was so perfect in my dreams. I was happy with Finn. He was kissing me in front of the Eiffel Tower, and we were just the two of us in the world. Love was truly in the air.
I shifted, and Sadie probably figured I woke up.
"Hey Millie! How are you feeling?" she told me, more like whispered.
"Not good. How is Finn? Did they finish the surgery?" I told her with hope in my eyes.
"No, but they said they were almost done." She told me, and the hope died down, but nervousness and fear occurred my body.
We sat there, waiting for anything to happen, and then a doctor came to us.
"How is he doctor? Is everything okay?" I sat up and asked.
"The surgery went smooth, everything is fine. He isn't awake yet, but you can come see him." He told us. "but not everyone, we only accept people on at a time." He added.
I looked behind me at everyone, and they nodded understandingly. They knew I wanted to see him very badly, so they let me go first. I smiled gratefully at them, and then followed the doctor to Finn's room.
I saw through the windows a peacefully sleeping Finn. I sighed happily before entering the room.
"My Finn, I'm so happy you're okay, I know you probably can't hear me, but I will say it, I was extremely worried and scared, because I know I won't be able to lose you. You are one of the most important people to me, and I can't be without you. I love so so much!" I told him, before kissing his face everywhere.
I sat there and looked at him for a little, but then I realized that everyone needed to see him, so I kissed his hand for the last time, and made my way back to the others, leaving my Finnie alone for a little. I didn't want to, but I knew I had to. Everyone deserved to see him, everyone was as scared as I was, and I understood that.
Mary hugged me tightly, and then she went to see him. It was truly a scary day for everyone, but I was thankful he was okay.
A/N Hello fellow reader! This is another really sad chapter, but it was needed. I kinda liked writing this, and especially writing from Mary's perspective was interesting. I think it's time to tell you guys that the character Mary isn't inspired from Finn's mom or anything, it's actually inspired by me. My name is Mary, and I thought it would be fun to make myself a character in my first book, kind of like a personal thing. Ok, that kind of it. Thank you so much for reading, I really hope you liked it, let me know if you did or not. I love you all so much! PS: I'm sorry if this is too short, but it needed to stop where it did! xx
