CHAPTER 10- Not how Cinderella entered the ball
It's been 5 agonising days already and logan really meant it when he said we were just 'roomates'.
He doesn't even give me a second glance when he walks passed me and literally treats me like a stranger.
The other day he began calling me 'miss willows'.
Seriously? Now were all formal and shit? Damn it sucks having a taste of your own medicine. now I know how logan felt when I called him by his last name.
It hurt a lot but it was the right thing to do right? I'm always doing the right thing. What my brain says is always right.
'But are you always doing what your heart tells you to do?' The little voice inside my head says.
No I'm not. but I've never listened to what it says for all this time so why change that?
I begin questioning myself until I'm too tired to do so. I needed to save my energy for today's party.
Surprised that someone like me is going to a party?
It was a exception cause Jacob had begged me to and I needed to get my mind off things that have been happening. It was apparently costume party so I had gone to the shops to find something.
The lady at the counter looked my way then stared at my body really hard, making me blush (I wasn't exactly a super model) and handed me some out fit covered with a black bag (so I had no idea what it was).
I begin slowly combing my messy ass hair and tying it into a neat bun afterwards. I wore contact lenses after a million years cause apparently the dress came with a mask.
Slowly I walk towards the out fit on my bed and begin unzipping it.
I gasp I find my self holding a dark blue dress. it looked beautiful, simple and practical all at the same time. It was a little but above my ankles and had that puffiness around the outside if you get what I mean.
I also take out a dark blue mask to go with it that had nice little jewels around it.
How was I possibly going look good in this?! It's just.....too much I guess.
I put the dress and the mask on with dread and anticipation. I was going to look hideous.
I ever so slowly turn to the mirror to find someone else staring back at me.
That was not me.
The girl staring back at me looked beautiful. so elegant and dazzling.
I spend about the next 10 minutes just staring at myself until I realise I have to leave. I quickly put on a coat to cover to cover dress completely then run outside my room to bump into something hard and smooth.
I look up to see a very annoyed logan.
shirtless.
I blush and turn away as we stand there for a few awkward seconds until I slowly look at him to find him staring at me with a weird look.
"What are you looking at?" I say as I lift an eyebrow.
He snaps out of his trance and his face is immediately hard again.
"It's just weird to see you without glasses" he causally says as he walks back to his room.
My eyes widen as I realise that he actually acknowledged my existence after so long. I was excited but I needed to go now before I was late. I quickly rush down stairs full to find Jacob waiting for me outside.
"Well look who decided to come?" he smirks as he opens the door for me.
"Let's just go" I roll my eyes as I get into the car.
"You ready?" He asks as he gets into the drivers seat.
"Yep"
I was so ready.
........
I was so not ready for this.
Turns out you have to make an 'entrance' when you enter the ballroom.
Sadly I didn't know this because Jacob forgot to tell me that this was a FORMAL costume party, not some normal party that people at my school go to, to get drunk and high.Like seriously?!
So what happens is, you enter through the back door the climb the stairs until you're right behind a curtain, then the curtain draws to reveal yourself then you walk down the stars onto the dance floor.
Bullshit isn't it? It's meant to be some glamour moment for everyone but it's humiliation honestly.
So now it's my turn and I'm climbing up the stairs with my shaky buckling legs.
I was so scared.
I begin hyperventilating really badly when I right behind the curtain with a really bad cold sweat.
"Next is a lovely lady who looks like she has dressed up as Cinderella! Please give a round of a applause" the mc booms from the other side of the curtain.
Actually I was never going for a Cinderella look but that wasn't important cause everything I was dreading hit me in one go.
The curtains drew and it felt like the whole world stopped in front of my very eyes.
I felt dizzy and was literally about to faint until someone catches me just as I was about to fall.
I turn to see a handsome face also covered with a mask look back at me and that's when everything just didn't make sense to me anymore.
Because that jawline, those eyes, those lips.
Looked awfully familiar.
