They had just finished their concert in Los Angeles. It had been a hectic day - hell, the whole month had been hectic - and the staff members had asked if they could help them out with cleaning up the stage after the show. It was a strange request, but Namjoon ended up agreeing. It wasn't like they had anything to do after the show ended anyway. Sleeping and eating, even though Yoongi loved that, could wait.
They didn't complain too much. They were okay with the arrangement. Plus, how hard could it be? It wasn't like they had to do it all by themselves. It would be alright.
-------
Moyeon, the temporary manager, was a bit disagreeable. Taehyung found her unbearable. She always seemed to snap at Jungkook and was a bit impatient around him.
Taehyung just couldn't stand her. There was something off about her character and behaviour that irked him off. Maybe it was the bright pink elastic that she used to tie her hair or the way she always rolled her eyes or...
Taehyung tried to appreciate her. After all, she was trying to do her job too. But most of all, he wanted Sejin to come back quickly. It felt weird going on tour without him.
------
They were sweeping and mopping up the stage after the show, when suddenly Jungkook cried out. When Taehyung ran over, he could see a big piece of metal stuck in his foot. That raised Taehyung's warning flags. Why was a dangerous sharp piece of metal on the stage anyway? He kept thinking about as the others managed to drag Jungkook up and into the dressing room.
The maknae was soon taken by another one of the staff members to the hospital. They were saying that his wound had to get stitched.
Taehyung tried to ask their others about what exactly happened, but nobody really knew. Jungkook getting some metal in his foot when there wasn't supposed to be anything, was strange.
The others were worried. Jin was tired. Yoongi was grumbling. Hoseok had bags around his eyes. Namjoon and Jimin were extremely hungry. Taehyung decided that it would be a great idea (and kind of fun) to figure out how the metal got there and why Jungkook was the one to step on it.
-------
Taehyung had his suspicions, but he couldn't really prove anything. While the others went around helping the staff, he walked around the stage trying to figure out how it happened. Jungkook had been standing on the left side, trying to scrape the scuff marks off. There had been a sharp blade there that had hit the maknae. Taehyung remembered dancing close to that portion of the stage during the show. There wasn't anything out of the ordinary then.
The blade had been placed there between the ending of the show and the time when Jungkook came over to clean.
He decided to go into the office and check the surveillance cameras. It took a while for him to figure out how to rewind the footage to let him watch it, but even once he did, nothing was really clear. He spent half an hour watching nothing useful. The video quality was worse than the footage of the inauguration of the fourth American president. Taehyung felt himself getting frustrated. Maybe Jungkook's thing had really been just an accident... maybe Taehyung had just used it as an excuse so he could get out of helping the others clean.
Just then, a flash of pink moved across the screen.
Taehyung leaned closer. Was that Moyeon? After looking at the blurry figure for a bit, he realized it was indeed her. He narrowed his eyes.
