warning: descriptions of injury and violence (don't we all enjoy these things?)

Taehyung took a deep breath. He glanced around at all the other members. He would never admit it, but there was a slight feeling of apprehension flowing through him. He'd always been a bit shy, and these big parties really didn't help.
The party was hosted by some hi-fi rich guy. Taehyung didn't know him. Neither did the others. They had just been invited over as part of the extended invitation list. Apparently, he wanted many celebrities to be here. The issue was that the guy also happened to be a slimy sewer rat who'd been involved with multiple government scandals. As it happens with every rich person, they'd never had to face the consequences of their actions.
His name made Taehyung's skin crawl. As it turned out, his family had been directly impacted by the scandals. Their livelihoods had been affected, their ways of life, their...
"When can we leave?" Taehyung muttered to Jin, who frowned in reply.
"Taehyung, that is not an acceptable attitude to have here. Talk to people. Enjoy yourself. I'm not having fun either, but at least I'm not complaining."
Taehyung scoffed. He eyed the scene.
The giant hall stretched as far as he could see. Loud music was playing, courtesy of the band at the front. The lead singer was screaming something into the mic. All around him, people were dancing. The tables dotted the sides. Taehyung could make out the bottles of alcohol that people were, no doubt, hungering over. All these rich people stuff, Taehyung could never fit in.
The tables were set for a feast. Dinner had been served two hours earlier, but the food had been already forgotten about. A pretty pink candlestick was the main centerpiece for every single table.
The room was decorated with big fancy balloons and streamers. The balloon strings were weirdly thick, they almost resembled ropes.
Reluctantly, he walked onto the dance floor.
Other people were holding hands, staring into each others' eyes, and doing other romantic things.
Taehyung awkwardly stood in the middle, unsure of what to do. It's not like he didn't know how to dance, it was just... he couldn't do this.
Just as he was about to run back towards the safety of his table, someone stumbled into him. They held out their hands. As the lights over them changed, Taehyung made out their facial features.
"Hoseok?" Taehyung's eyes widened. "No!"
"Dance with me."
"No!"
Hoseok's mouth pressed into a thin line. "Taehyung, please. You look so awkward. Let me help you. We stand out."
"Well, of course we stand out! Did you really think we would fit in here-"
Before he could complete his sentence, Hoseok grabbed his hands and nearly swept him off his feet. Within a moment, Taehyung found himself holding onto Hoseok's shoulder with one hand and his wrist with the other. Hoseok knew which way to move and go. Taehyung clung onto him.
Hoseok smiled at him.
"See, that's how it is."
Taehyung nodded.
He tried to melt himself into the music. It was only a few more hours. If he danced with Hoseok forever, this experience actually wouldn't be so bad.
"Hyung!"
A sudden, loud whisper brought him back to his senses. Jungkook was standing at their side. His eyes were wide. Like they always were, Taehyung thought.
